I'm gonna skip the Oscars bullshit because who fucking cares, it's the Oscars. Nobody wants to sit around watching Hollywood snort its own farts for four hours while lecturing all of us little people about how we're responsible for everything awful and we need to change (but don't ask them to change their ways, nooooo). I mean that quite literally, as this
NYT article discusses:
Ratings are probably going to be an all-time low again, and even lower through the night as the few people who bother to tune in switch to something less lecturing.
However, I would like to laugh at the hilarity of all these fucking Black Panther stans that thought Boseman had it in the bag for Best Actor. Don't get me wrong, he was a good actor and it's a shame he died so young, but let's be real, these people only know who he was because he starred in their favorite woke capeshit movie (and the wokest until Captain Marvel landed like a wet fart). I've heard zero about the movie he was nominated for, but all the buzz I heard about The Father praised Anthony Hopkins for his performance, and it sounded pretty obvious to me he was going to win. The other nominees were probably fine too, but I'm sure Hopkins more than deserved the win. These morons getting mad at him for "ruining" the Oscars (like that's even possible) are just the worst sort of people that are probably still butthurt that their precious Wakanda didn't win Best Picture a couple years ago.
This is only Bob-adjacent, but:
I tortured myself by reading this piece, and boy howdy do I just want to slap this retard. It's basically "grr I'm such a mad person so I identify with a 400-foot radioactive lizard" and a bunch of purple prose about how Godzilla is the "voice of the marginalized" or some shit. It's a lot of metaphorical wankery that serves no purpose other than for the author to wax pretentious and read deeper meaning into a series of big dumb monster movies. They even admitted to being scared during Godzilla vs. Kong and compared it to a religious experience, which is about the dumbest and saddest thing I have ever read. About the only thing I can agree with is the sentiment that pushing against something often results in a backlash, but they seem to only think in terms of conservatives being destroyed by the inevitable leftist juggernaut, not once implying that said forces can easily go the other way. Classic "rules for thee, not for me" thinking if I ever saw it.
So yeah, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that this is something Blobbo would love. It's words that could easily have come out of his fat jowls, trying to make himself look smarter by reading deeper meaning into pop culture pablum. I don't recommend reading it because I feel like I'm dumber for doing so, but if you do decide to, it's barely a light essay at best.
On a side note, anyone more familiar with the Godzilla canon: the fuck is this idiot on about with Godzilla being trans? I mean, I know Son of Godzilla had to come from somewhere, but I could feel my brain cells dying as I tried to wrap my mind around it.
