Many Disnoids like Defunctland on Twitter are upset about this:
The reaction from Woke Disney park fans over these PC changes just boggles my mind.
We're talking people who spend hours writing or talking about how much they hate it when Disney changes the smallest thing and then all of a sudden Disney scraps arguably THE most iconic show scene of all their rides (the "we want the redhead" auction scene) and... complete indifference.
I can only think of one left leaning Disney park fan who is critical of the changes and that's Dave Ensign, one of the duo who snuck into Horizons in the late 1990s to take a bunch of photos, I'm actually pretty proud of that guy for that.
But then meanwhile there's Foxxfur, a trans furry and yes, I know, I know, it's sounding really bad already, but they have a Disney park blog they've been writing on for over a decade called Passports to Dreams Old and New, we're talking someone who used to be incredibly anal about the smallest details, all of a sudden being indifferent to such a major change, barely even addressing it at all other than making an argument for why they think it's happened, but not seeming all that upset about it, even though if I expected anyone to be upset about it, it would have been them.
And then finally there's Defunctland, who I've been a fan of their videos since basically the beginning, but I'm very disappointed by his display on Twitter.
It's disturbing how the Woke will throw anything under the bus no matter how much they love it in the name of Woke.
And the ironic thing is you could make the argument that the entirety of both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom are one great big ode to white people and white cultural achievements, focusing on the Magic Kingdom we have Mainstreet USA, celebrating old timey America long, long before civil rights, then there's Adventureland which is all about how wacky and exotic the non-white parts of the world are, then there's Frontierland celebrating how the west was won by the white man, Liberty Square focusing on American history of course, Fantasyland celebrating European fairytales and folklore and Tomorrowland celebrating the future as imagined by someone like Werner Von Braun.
All of this stuff revolving around a great big, gleaming European castle, as if it's the ultimate symbol of Eurocentrism.
So the whole park could be "canceled" as the prevailing theme is basically "white people are awesome!" or at the very least it's one great big celebration of western civilization, a civilization that just so happens to be "white"
And I'm sure Walt Disney himself, being a man born in the early 20th century, probably didn't have super progressive views either, so in theory he could be "canceled" as well.
My point is when you follow Woke logic to it's endpoint it's something that could literally destroy everything, everything is to some degree "cancelable", the fact that Woke Disney fans can't see the danger of allowing that slippery slope and how it could absolutely destroy those parks as they once were is mind boggling to me, especially as I said it's following years of these very same people hyping up the importance of Disney park preservation.
