It costs money, time, paperwork, testing, etc. There are any number of legitimate or illegitimate reasons that someone would remain a permanent resident rather than go through the process to get citizenship. 11 years is a long time, but if King Tut's immediate concerns are fat bitches and drugs, it's easy to see how immigration paperwork could fall by the wayside.

ETA: That compilation posted this morning was really good, it filled in some gaps for me. One thing though is that it indicated that he's looking for a roommate, a relationship - then tie that in with the other woman who is or wanted to be a roommate and rent a room and mix it with his whole moving in with him, her being over every night (I do believe she went last night and means she's now been there every night since Wednesday - nearly a week) that he just wants a roommate he can fuck. I'm also surprised there's lack of any mention of his previous relationships. A normal question to ask is "how long was your longest relationship?" "How long do your relationships usually last?" "Why do then usually end?" "have you had many partners, many being over X?" related and like questions. She doesn't seem to know much about him even though she's interested in learning about him - start there.

The problem is, there are things in her story that are a little too odd even for Chantal's bizarre imagination--things that set off alarm bells for those of us unfortunate enough to have encountered individuals like her Egyptian guy. If I didn't make that story up, why should I believe Chantal did? The alternative is that Chantal googled "narcissistic abuse" sans the narcissist and invented a character to fit the behavior pattern. That's giving Chantal more credit than she deserves. Way more.

Narcissists make you think and do some very fucked up things. I'm not saying her behavior is logical or reasonable on her best day, but her recent actions are a little TOO sus:

- deciding to do one thing before immediately deciding to do the opposite (sometimes within the same sentence)
- finding his overtly and objectively offensive words/actions "funny"
- constant justification of his behavior at all costs
- behaving in ways she normally wouldn't (i.e. using cocaine)
- ignoring countless, massive red flags

She can build him up as much as she wants, but we don't even have to look at his behavior to know something's wrong. This is how she's acting in response to this new influence, and none of it is flattering to anyone with half a brain. What does she get out of it? A good story? At the cost of her entire reputation?

Chantal's stupid, but she ain't that stupid. She's being manipulated. The question is whether or not she's aware of it.

It seems he could have picked the most stable thing he's done and that he was fired for an argument is common in the industry, but there is some other work out there. I also do wonder what he means by Chef, as others pointed out.. Exec Chef? Sous Chef? Head line cook? Not everyone who works in a commercial kitchen is a chef - and she didn't really push for more details such as what kind of place, formal? Casual? What cuisine? Until she learns how to ask for more details and why, she can't call out bullshit because she doesn't know very much about anything. Somewhat but not completely. You have to have been here for 3 years, yes BUT so far as I know that 3 years is if someone is sponsoring you to come into Canada. That person has to be able to tell the Canadian government that should the person coming into the country can't support themselves, the sponsor will do it for 3 years. I also believe you have to maintain the same residence for those 3 years as well, it might actually be more. Just being here for 3 years doesn't just let you apply for citizenship.

Oh yes, if your only point was that criminality is a reason one may be denied citizenship, I agree.

My issue with the videos presumption that this is "the most telling thing she has said" is that in order to get there we have to assume;

1) This man really is a permanent resident
2) This man actually has lived there for 11 years
3) This man has applied for and been denied citizenship
4) The reason for the denial is criminality as opposed to any of the other dozen disqualifiers

And that's just too many assumptions for my little heart to make.

While I appreciate your perspective, I think we far too quickly diagnose people with narcissism over the internet. Everything you listed is far more likely due to Chantel being desperate and pathetic after being dumped by Bibi, ignored by all male humans for the past year, and rejected multiple times from her Tinder flings.

There are a few reasons, some of them personal, why someone wouldn't apply for Citizenship in Canada.

Spoiler: Personal Experience

I've sponsored 3 people. One had been landed for about 13 years. She'd applied previously but had no sponsor at that time and somehow the paperwork got fucked up, either by the immigration agent or the government or both - it happens - but she is a good worker who not only holds a full-time Union job but also has a fairly successful cleaning business on the side. Her customers love her and her work ethic makes her good citizen material. We had all this evidenced and paperwork and MONEY - because this shit isn't cheap - and the C-court still razzed her about why it took so long to apply.

Sometimes it's lack of money, because it ain't easy working shit jobs under the table for shit wages with overseers (supervisors to the rest of us) who only keep you on if you buy them coffees, bottles, etc.

Sometimes life just gets in the way and the people who promised to 'bring you foreign' reneg and leave the person to fend for himself in a strange country.

Sometimes the person is loyal to his homeland, and just can't cut the ties.

And then sometimes the person is an out-and-out criminal dealing drugs and trafficking women.

For pages and pages I've been reading about how dangerous it is for Chantal to put herself in this position - I believe the sordid basics are true - and no doubt it is, but knowing Chinny and her toxicity, I find myself wondering if Tut should be throwing his drugs and condoms into a hefty bag and running for the hills. She just seems so impervious to it all.

Tut and his friends might be wondering at this very moment how to eject the cow from their lives, swearing to never do THAT again!

Well that intrigues me. Have they finally had it with clotso? I imagine the way she acted when she was with them as her gram was in a dire medical condition could have been the final straw for most of her family.

I never could find the video of it but wasn't she at her uncles or moms because gram was ill and chubby was bothering her mom demanding dinner to be cooked and live streaming and other bullshit. While the family dealt with Grams serious medical crisis, Chinny decided to ignore her diabetes and to double down on gluttonously gorging herself on everything she should not be eating.
