It’s called capitalism. Don’t you love it?

Cancelling yourself pays
Informative post as to Lindsay's Patreon standings, but for fucks sake,
SHE WASN'T FUCKING CANCELED!

She still has her YouTube channel and other assorted deals/gigs, her coveted Blue Checkmark, access to those with reach and is capable of affording a comfortable middle class lifestyle all from what amounts to little more than mildly clever media analysis. Canceled, my ass. Sure, she pissed off some of the more principled in her sphere of influence, but she's still standing.

In a just world, she'd be slinging shakes at Five Guys.

The billionaires are safe. If someone tries to cancel one of them, the money faucet gets turned off for them, permanently, and they lose their platform. Never forget who is really running this show.
Even the ones that aren't vindictive are still untouchable. Remember how they tried to cancel JK Rowling and she didn't really lose anything?

And Todd has returned to Twitter after 5 days of silence! No one will ever speak of the Troubles again.

I also prefer Todd's other stuff to Trainwreckords because he's usually covering something terrible that can get annoying to hear. Which makes sense, since it's about a band's downfall, but I only watch the occasional episode.

Going back to Lindsay, her new twitter banner is a quote from her editor saying her new book is good. Which is releasing in October. Wonder how poorly the sales will do this time. I'm pretty sure the first one got sales because it was Lindsay's debut novel so people wanted to support her, and it's the first in a series so those usually sell the highest. Now we'll see the readership drop off unless she managed to write something engaging this time.

She has more than a million subscribers on YouTube, 10k backers on Patreon, and her book barely made bestsellers lists for a week. Sales cratered after that.

Even by the standards of YouTubers who got book deals, thats not terribly impressive.
