It's the principal of the matter to me, especially since this is nothing new with Phil, the act of being less than honest about income. And ESPECIALLY in light of the fact that he is now going out of his way to purge those who draw attention to what his tips goals amount to per month if they keep being met. In a time when he is adjusting to lost income, he is still asking for enough money that he has to shut down anyone doing the math, lest his grift be exposed.

This is why I'm calling his financial ruin inevitable. Losing his partnership has not humbled him. Feeling the impact in a couple months probably won't either, but at least it'll be poetic justice for his woes to finally be factual.

Don't get too excited, Phil isn't a fountain of good ideas, and he has been content to collect on those shitty perks for far longer than anyone with a conscience would. The only reason he seems suddenly aware is because Patreon is now his partnership, in a sense.

So that’s setting up BTTV and the five bucks a month for it, and changing the perks. Two things DSP is saying he’ll do. How long before he completely drops them and bans anyone from mentioning them?

EDIT: I'm willing to put money on the prediction that when it comes to new Patreon perks he's literally just going to go ask his chat what to do and come up with nothing.

This man is the worst streamer in history. He gets tips that tell a joke, "Okay" he responds acting like he's too good for the joke. People tip with dirty names "I'm not putting that up on the leader board".

All you have to do Phil is be friendly. That's what streaming basically is, all you have to do is be nice, laugh at peoples stupid jokes, and humor the audience and they throw money. You're not there to show off your gaming prowess, in fact most streamers, like you, fucking suck at games. You're not there to entertain anyone, some streamers do that but 1) you couldn't entertain people to save your life and 2) that's still not what they do the majority of the time. Streaming is 90% just sitting there and shooting the shit with the audience while you do something in the background.

Bad luck for Phil he's such a friendless narcissist loser that he ends up being a massive asshole. I mean it draws in a different audience you could argue, but we're not exactly looking at numbers even close to what more outgoing friendly streamers get.

I'm in the camp that thinks Phil didn't really change at any point into the grump he is now, so much as he ever so slowly learned what a douchebag like him gets for being a douchebag, and because he's not normal in the least, it made him sad but he accepted his future rather than change so he can possibly have a nicer one.

I've never seen Phil look like he wants to be nice to anybody, let alone the people who watch him today. When I watch old videos of his, he may not be so miserable, he can even come off as fairly normal, but he still has his frequent moments of being a dick. It's what he is, a complete cunt, always has been, and the only thing that's different now is that he knows he can't be social AND be himself, and he hates it. So he just lets loose more than he used to.

Good. Better that than getting away with treating others poorly.

Phil's rancid personality honestly wouldn't be so bad if he didn't always frame himself as "a brutally honest guy who says what others are too afraid to". That's the excuse that every dumb asshole pulls to justify why no one likes them. Phil excuses his non-existent popularity by claiming his opinions are "too tough for people to handle".
In reality he's just a vapid, anti-social sperg who can't control his emotions and physically can't understand how someone who isn't him can feel.
There's plenty of examples of wildly popular streamers who constantly talk shit and are rude to people, but they have a "finesse" that Phil could never achieve. Like Tyler1, he's always taunting and yelling at people, the difference is he can laugh when people insult him back, he's actually capable of banter. And he's clearly aware that his primary goal as a streamer is to make people laugh and enjoy themselves, that's why he gets increasingly dramatic as time goes on. Phil's brain is incapable of thinking about something being done for anyone who isn't him, so he wants money to be thrown at him just for showing up, and then he wants his chat to shut the fuck up while he bashes some dumb bots to death.
Every time Tyler1 turns off his stream, he starts berating his viewers. Watch this clip and tell me there isn't a dramatic difference between him and DSP.
Phil can piss and moan about his popularity being dead the fault of the trolls, but there are very good reasons for why big-time streamers are able to pull in the audience that they do, and it isn't their willingness to "sell out". Tyler can channel his anger into something creative and fun, Phil is a whiny, spoiled brat whose mouth is like a faucet, just blurts out complaints before he even thinks and then bans anyone who calls him out on it.
