US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

It goes a little beyond that, to varying degrees of stupidity.

First; while their emissions are net zero there is the real issue of where to store depleted uranium.
Second; There is a degree of "not In My Backyard" here. Solar panels can be put out of sight, and wind turbines almost add to the view. A big old nuclear plant is a blight on the landscape, if very effective.
Third; Many legitimately believe the steam coming out of them is pollution.
Fourth; It provides jobs primarily to the middle class, and is harder to unionize than most do to requiring trained but not college-level knowledge for most roles. The left, ironically, tends to hate the proles.
Not in my backyard is incredibly effective, as the waste & pollution that solar panels & wind turbines create is out of sight and out of mind, as the most-impacted areas are usually overseas at the sites of mineral extraction. It's almost the same reason why green activists froth at the mouth about US emissions, while ignoring the fact that most US manufacturing has been relocated overseas to China, where standards are impossible to enforce.

Same as how people are almost perfectly fine with coal plants and not nuclear because of radiation and think that the only pollution from coal plants is carbon dioxide & ash, despite the fact that coal emissions often contain radioactive, heavy metals, & carcinogenic substances, except that it's amortized over a long period of time.

Generally, this image crisis has mainly emerged from fear over nuclear war & ongoing the deindustrialization/environmental movement, as well as the consequent reactions to nuclear accidents at nuclear power plants. Nuclear plants are ultimately a product of the older mid-century technological-material utopianism, while wind turbines & solar panels are of the current environmental zeitgeist that has consumed the West.

Russia wants (...) less destruction of European values

damn I admit you got me, untill now I was only slightly unsure if you were trolling

My point is the corruption among government officials of that level is so obvious and blatant they are not even bothering to hide it anymore

oh so we agree then, I thought you were arguing that Shroeder was not very obviously paid off

Why not Antarctica? It's just a few test stations and literal wasteland.
Why bother? It's as @Return of the Freaker said. Say what you will about the French, but they seem to have found a way to deal with nuclear waste although I'd have to check if it was particularly expensive for them to do so. I imagine it isn't that expensive considering how much they rely on nuclear power over there.

I say we bury it under Washington DC..if it leaks then nothing of value would be lost.
Unfortunately D.C. is right next to the Potomac River, which is not exactly tiny, so that's really not the best idea in case of leak. I mean yeah, D.C. itself is no big loss, but that river goes right into the Chesapeake, and that getting irradiated would be a bad idea.

Listen sometimes lives have to be Sacrificed for the greater good.

Look man, I'm not trading oysters. crabs, and bass for politicians. Three of those make good eating, one does not.

Im not trolling, Russia want to preserve European values, they look up to Central Europeans when it comes to culture.
Russia is just a problem for those fucking globalists.

Russian influence in the EU would mean no more migration from (Sand)nigger and no more free lunches for lazy southern europeans.

The whole DC statehood push was completely retarded and insincere. Not until a few months ago did I ever hear the Left even consider DC being its own state. Compare that towards efforts to make Puerto Rico a state which has been something talked about for years and, if it did become a state, that would pretty much give the Left a safe 5 electoral votes compared to just 3 from DC.

PR statehood is one of those weird issues where Republicans officially support statehood while the Democrats support preserving the existing commonwealth

Obviously it had to be deleted since Tucker made reference that the 2020 election may have been stolen. That's against Youtube's policy. Most secure election ever.
Ummm sweaty there is literally no reason to dispute the safest election the world has ever seen. Now 2016 on the otherhand...
Manchin may be a political slime all but I love him killing all these bills.
Jesus, why don't they just use nuclear power? Why is it that the left wing always goes for the most retarded option possible? Is it spite? Are they still bitter about losing the Spanish civil war or something?
Everyone who would lose with nuclear shills against it. This goes from oil lobbyists to the scaremongerers citing disasters like Chernobyl or Fukushima, both of which had far worse problems in relation to why the melt downs occurred. The worst nuclear accident on US soil was TMI and the region is still inhabited and farmed on yet that started the scaremongering here. It is actually ironic that leftists who claim to care about the environment instead want to put up massive environmentally destruction wind or solar farms (you can find some nightmare fuel of them online) when we could instead be looking for ways to reuse nuclear waste as fuel and assert ourselves as entirely energy independent.

Of course the powers that be love black gold and gas driving the global economy so that won't happen.

The biggest problem with power plants is where to store the waste. We had a perfect place in Nevada. It was in the middle of the fucking desert, where there were no water tables to leak to, but Harry Ried put the kibosh on that.

We literally can't store nuclear waste in the middle of the fucking desert so its kind of hard to build new nuclear plants when you can't answer the question as to where you are going to put the waste.

Yucca Mountain is in political Limbo as every senator from Nevada opposes it. Like I said, we can't put nuclear waste in the fucking desert so its impossible to store elsewhere.
All our problems would be solved if we just put them in the middle of the damn desert. Ain't nothing inhabitable there anyway.

Yeah, and she caused big asshurt by aggressively giving the $15/hr minimum wage a big thumbs down.

Krysten Sinema has always been into theatrics. Here she is in a pink tutu while protesting the military in 2003.

It’s an established fact that Sinema a former Green Party activist who co-founded an anti-war group, wore a pink tutu at one of the multiple anti-war protests she attended in 2003. “While we were in harm’s way, she was protesting our troops in a pink tutu,” Republican candidate Martha McSally, a former Air Force fighter pilot, said during Monday night’s debate. However, Politifact rated it "mostly false."

Being in AZ, I rather detest this woman. But at least she's not AOC fucking crazy and does occasionally reach across the aisle.
