Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Here in the free state of Florida, our surgeon general just released an advisory that the fully vaccinated do not need to wear masks anywhere, and do not need to worry about crowd size, distancing, etc.

As long as that also applies to ppl who have already had it as well. Natural immunity > EU vaccines

There is no mask mandate here. This is just him telling people that contrary to CDC guidance, they can feel comfortable doing away with this bullshit. It’s reassurance, not a directive.

Anyone is free to go without a mask or gather in any way they like, nobody can stop them.

Kentucky Derby is today. From what I understand Churchill Downs will be at half capacity and masks are supposed to be worn unless actively consuming something. Kids under 5 and horses do not need masks. From what I've seen in pictures and video this morning it's pretty boring. I was hoping for obnoxious hat/mask combos but so far I haven't seen any.

I am sick and tired but not surprised at the media up here absolutely failing to critically assess the British Columbian government's restrictions on travel within the province. The restrictions on travel are expressly unconstitutional, as they violate section 6b of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Canadian equivalent of the American Bill of Rights. Section 6b guarantees the rights of Canadians to travel within Canada. The Charter of Rights is not suspended by a provincial declaration of emergencies. It can only be suspended by the federal government invoking the Emergencies Act, which it hasn't done (and to do so under the conditions would be political suicide). The British Columbian government cannot invoke the notwithstanding clause of the constitution, which permits the governments to temporarily override certain sections of the constitution at their discretion, as that clause cannot be used to override section 6.

In any case, the government has not actually initiated enforcement of the order. If they do, anyone who is denied travel rights, or issued a fine under the order ($525 dollars, they say) has a case to sue the government to rescind the fine.

But really, fuck the media who either completely gloss over the human rights violations or don't even mention it. It's all bullshit cheerleading for expressly unconstitutional measures that won't even have any effect on the spread of the not-serious virus. The police cannot stop you for suspicion of violating the unconstitutional order. The police cannot ask you where you are going or what the purpose of your visit is. To do so is an absolutely illegal violation of your rights in Canada. And fuck all media outlets right up their cornholes for failing to describe to the public these undeniable facts which have been upheld consistently in case law.

I'm still going camping even if the restrictions are extended past the Victoria Day long weekend. I expect they will be because of course they will be. I plan to leave the city early and then drive for 2-3 hours until I get to Hope, the town east and north of which any hypothetical road checks would be set up, then check online if road checks are set up at that time. The government has said they will not be in place permanently throughout the time of the order, but will be put up every now and then just like anti-drunk driving road checks. (Those are determined to be constitutional when applied with the narrow focus of preventing drunk driving, unlike the travel ban, but I digress). If one is set up along the highway I need to take, I'll just pull over in Hope and chill out for a couple of hours, checking my phone until I hear the checks have been taken down. Then I'll continue on my merry way.

Sorry for the wall of text guys.

I think the media is even accomplice of the government in Canada since they ask for governments grants and all the stuff. Btw, speaking of Canada... https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/05/canada_has_an_eerie_police_state_feel_lately.html

Canada has an eerie ‘police state’ feel lately

By Andrea Widburg

Canada lacks the miracle that is the United States Constitution. Still, as befits a nation the once-free British founded, it is a country that has traditionally had a few of what we consider to be core English freedoms – freedom of speech, worship, assembly, etc. Those concepts seem far away now, as Justin Trudeau and the various provincial and municipal governments use COVID as an excuse to crack down on those liberties.
I’ve written before about Canada’s draconian and expensive hotel rule for people returning by air from overseas travel. It’s gotten so bad that people are flying into the U.S. and driving to their home country to avoid the hotel restriction.
That inconvenience, though, is small potatoes compared to what else is going on in a country that, as of April 30, has had an average of only 653 COVID deaths per million citizens. By contrast, France had 1,530 deaths per million, Germany has had 997 deaths per million, England has had 1,903 deaths per million, and America has had 1,744 deaths per million.
In other words, as the vaccine ramps up, treatments improve, and we get better at protecting the at-risk elderly, Canada should be relaxing its restrictions – but that’s not what’s happening. Two men, however, are fighting back.
One of those people is already familiar to American Thinker readers. A month ago, American Thinker posted a video of Pastor Artur Pawlowski, who grew up in communist Poland, kicking the Canadian police out of his church. They had come to stop a worship service that exceeded the 15% capacity limit Canada imposes on religious worship. (As a thought experiment, ask yourself if the government would do the same to a mosque.)
Pawlowski insisted (a) that the police come back with a warrant before he would let them into his church and (b) that they communicate with him solely through his lawyer. What happened, instead, was that, on Wednesday, the same officials returned directly to him, not his lawyer, with an extremely specific type of warrant – a secret warrant.
According to Rebel News, a conservative Canadian internet outlet, the government obtained the warrant in a secret hearing, despite knowing the identity of Pawlowski’s attorney. The warrant fails to state the evidentiary grounds that justified its issuance. Instead, it simply empowers the state to go into Pawlowski’s church during services (something that ordinarily is barred under applicable law) and to arrest anyone who resists.
Pawlowski is planning to go ahead with services today, and it’s likely the event will end in his arrest. During a conversation with Jesse Kelly, Pawlowski explained that, having grown up behind the Iron Curtain, he knows what’s happening. Moreover, he says that religious people “are a pack of lions” who will “never bow before hyenas.”

With vaccines being widely available in the US, do some people still ridicule the US's handling of Corona-chan, and still use comparisons such as real shithole countries like Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and North Korea, handing it better because of fewer cases and deaths? As in "America Sucks at handling Corona compared to a fucking bus driver, since Venezuela has fewer cases than US deaths?"

of course, because they're all frothing at the mouth about bad orange man.

Michael J. Stern can go bite my crank. Fuck him, fully.

@Thiletonomics - What exactly does "Joe Biden Victory Rice (uncooked)" mean? The cooked rice on your avatar is known in Korean as "pap".
Yeah fuck people being hesitant about a vaccine that the "experts" can't agree on your potential side effects.

Whenever I remember that propaganda children's books exist, my heart sinks.

I hate to go all "Think of the children!", but children really are the biggest victims in all this. No kid will ever have a normal life again, and they are being taught that, despite all the history, books, and movies up until now, the first few years of their lives were a fluke, life is actually completely different, anyone can die by their hand at any moment unless they wear the mask, and that is okay.

It's about time people started learning there are consequences for living in blue states.

Or vaccines that keep getting pulled from distribution, then put back on, etc., etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum. NO trust in government/law enforcement/judiciary anymore.
See the benefit I had from MMR/chickenpox/typhoid/diptheria is that they had all been tested and proved effective for years before that.
I'll wait half a year or so.

It's sad when you consider, I don't think the US was even this insane after the fucking world trade center blew up.

The thing with Vaccines is that a lot of people, myself included, who don't want to get it aren't anti-vaxxers. We just generally agree that the vaccine appears to have been rushed and that the side effects aren't worth risking compared to just wearing a mask and socially distancing.

Being cautious is a cardinal sin now, didn't you hear? Go ahead and jump in front of a truck, throw caution to the wind, I'm sure they'll stop for you!

Basically this. The side effects are worse than most cases of covid for my age group. I would in all likelihood just give the sniffles if I catch covid at all. I'm at such an absurdly low risk of getting it, yet if I take the shot there's like 10-15% chance I vomit for a week and that's considered minor.

If you're a women, you might become a permanent blood faucet. None of that should be acceptable. Maybe if you're 70 and waiting to die you want to risk the long term and short term effects. Forcing limited tested medical products that could fuck you up for the rest of your life is just insanity when it's been pretty easy to avoid covid.

Here's the thing: We shouldn't be getting these side effects. We, as in the global community, do have the required expertise, technology, and knowledge to be able to quickly and efficiently make a vaccine safely. General turn around for a new vaccine is 2 years, which is actually -really fast-. The problem is they cut every corner imaginable and that includes basic safety testing. They had to, in order to have gotten a vaccine that should take 2 years out in 8 months.

Can anyone with more familiarity than me with the concept of "shedding" explain these rumors about women having period changes just from being in proximity to those who have been vaccinated?
I'm not going to PL, I just have some cause for concern.

The vaccine causes your body to make active spike proteins. They aren't weakened or non-functional in any way. Just active spike proteins in higher amounts that your average minor covid infection, which have been shown to cause a whole bunch of covid's symptoms (blood clots, period changes, lose of sense of smell, lung damage) that go beyond standard inflammation response (ie, the fever).

Now, they told us that these spike proteins somehow don't interact with our body after they are made... but how certain can we really be of this? They must be getting expressed in some way for the body to respond to them. If they aren't staying attached to the cells that spawned them (which arm muscle wasn't one that was listed as having ACE2 receptors, so you wouldn't imagine it impacting its neighbors, let alone causing the lung, intestine, heart and brain issues reported if it was just staying put), then they would go off into our body and behave as they do when part of the virus... which means binding with ACE2 receptors. This would allow them to be excreted as they would be while part of a regular covid infection as those infected cells die and parts of them escape the body.

We can't yet prove this has happened, but that's how it would theoretically work. I think a lot of the covid-like symptoms from the shot suggests that the S proteins are binding with ACE2 receptors, though (we also noticed these S protein symptoms in a higher intensity in the prisoners overdosed on mRNA). If they escape in a volume that could impact other people I'd say is to be determined, but that's essentially half the virus just free to do its thing. Kind of like Jurassic Park where nature found a way.
