I've witnessed this personally in my friendship circles (A combination of Harmaline + Pharmahuasca in pill form), commies and consumerists became much much more humble and curious rather than darkly sarcastic and so certain of their personal radical politics being the solution to all of lifes problems. Materialism and money chasing noticeably became more about personal projects rather than social reform. They saw something like God and angels, but like angels from the bible not angels in popular description, and were told personal things that they didn't want to talk about even with each other.
