Perhaps not closely enough, though if it means anything, I was done with him after all the fence-sitting he did during Gamergate. Came off as such a coward, couldn't take it after awhile.
What gets me is the stark contrast between Leanna and Katherine. I don't like to attribute cleverness to Phil, but it's hard to completely overlook how much that contrast suggests a deliberate move on his part. I mean, what would you do if you were a douchebag in need of a soulmaid who can put up with your shit forever, while having no intention of changing in any positive way?
Then again, with as much as Phil maniacally decides to roll the dice and just hope for the best instead of exerting himself, maybe he did just that and it came up in his favor.
I'm torn, because on one hand, Phil is a huge pussy, but that seems to be relegated to in-person interactions, otherwise he's easily irritable and combative.
Also, we know he hates going anywhere, and anything he says about why he's not attending his doctor's appointments is therefore suspect, even if it isn't stupid-sounding. And while I'm on this subject, why is he scheduling these appointments to begin with? Unless he isn't the one doing that, which means not only is Khet around, but is actually attempting to make him do something. Which seems odd, based on what we know about her. Hmm...
