Entire teams of subreddit moderators get targeted by Bardfinn. As a mod of againsthatesubreddits you are one of the ones that helped to give Bardfinn that power. Bardfinn has taken his crusade against redditors he does not like offsite and onto his twitter. Every top mod of every subreddit he moderates should remove him and his alts from their mod teams. Maybe that would force him to get a job at Wal Mart so he can pay his child maintenance payments and avoid going to jail again.

I've taken multiple courses in sociology. The way professors here (Central Europe) taught it sex is biological and immutable - exceptions like intersex conditions are that, exceptions. Gender is a set of values society assigns to either sex. Stereotypes, rules, roles, whatever - from the way you're supposed to look to the work you're supposed to do, things like that. A sort of consensus reality that's enforced the same way as etiquette for example. I think this is the closest to the "original" feminist theory on gender.

During what time period did this occur? I've not actually pulled up the /AHS sub in quite awhile. I can't. I'm too pissed off about the lost/misused potential. I've witnessed the changes. The agenda is prominent and clear to see.

I think that many people came to Kiwifarms because of the Aimee Challenor story. That was a shitshow. It revealed that not only did reddit hire a new admin who had been kicked out of two political parties in the UK for being tolerant to pedos but that this admin may have been groomed from the age of 14 on reddit by a prominent moderator of trans subs. Including some for young lgbt people. Simply firing Challenor did not get rid of the issue. It revealed an ugly underbelly of furry diaper fetishist possible pedos in mod positions at reddit.

No one cares about the "trans" angle, it's the pedo thing that got people angry enough to act. Againsthatesubreddits made a sticky post agreeing that Challenor should have been fired, but they also ... and unforgivably, imo, attacked the user Blank Cheque who led the reddit protest against Challenor. Subreddits of all kinds came together to take a stand and shut down and demand action from reddit. Againsthatesubreddits called the organizer a clout chaser and a transphobe and said that the "powermods" know the best way to handle reddit and there should have been a quiet letter sent to the admins about Challenor.

Do we really think a quiet letter expressing concern to the reddit administrators would have gotten Challenor fired? Againsthatesubreddits admits constantly that it is only media attention that causes admins to take action and in this case, action was urgently required, yes? There's an open detransitioner on twitter that talks about how Bardfinn tried to step in and redditrequest "detrans" a support subreddit for people who have regrets about attempting transition. Literally a vulnerable community of people.

Apparently it was around the time they may have hired Challenor that the gender critical subreddits were targeted. Subreddits for cis lesbians that refuse the girldick were banned. Now r/moderatepolitics doesn't even allow any submissions about transgender issues because too many of their users were being targeted even while having a civil conversation. Subredditdrama (how it's more special than r/drama I will never understand) allowed the Challenor story and then one of its mods said that suddenly months-old comments there were being targeted with reports. Askgaybros is now being targeted by againsthatesubreddits because they are gay men who don't want the vag. This is what againsthatesubreddits has become. Lacking actual hatred to combat, they are now trying to police people's opinions on "controversial" subjects...and persecuting cis women and gay women and gay men. This is why many in the LGBT community want to shove the T out of the back of the bus.

I'm trying to appeal to those that, I think, are sensible people there still. I've not yet reached any sort of outcome, but I will keep trying.

I did. And I will stand by that comparison as one more applicable than the Nazi comparison someone else gave. Steve is willing to torment anyone that stands in the way of transcommunism. Steve keeps a list of redditors guilty of things and guilt by association like Beria did.

Haha holy shit I missed this. I'm glad people look at the stuff I post because I don't actually look at all of it.

So according to him he went from 6 figures managing a y2k transition in 1999, to tier 1 phone support in 2009? And I had to look this up because I wasn't sure but tier 1 isn't good. It's the lowest level of tech support. It's the guy that tells you to try unplugging it and plugging it back in again, and when that doesn't work he sends you to someone smarter. Amazing.
