Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Looking at the Republican Party currently, all of Trump's achievements during his tenure, are now *Republican* achievements: Republicans cut insulin costs; Republicans made the country energy independent; Republicans helped to produce the greatest economy the country has seen.

You can call the technicalities (the President was a Republican), but the voters know where and who all of these things came from.

The GOP has two paths ahead, path A is to accept they will always be the minority party from here out as they continue to try and erase the fact Trump was probably the best Republican President in decades, or B, come crawling back to Trump because they are political whores and can't return to the Neocon era.
