Sounds like a purity spiral. A true fanatic would pretend that material wealth doesn't matter and therefore praise the regimes that catastrophically fail by those metrics as long as they keep a hard line on the actual ideology. Puritans deliberately chose to live in a frozen wasteland because they thought material comfort enables sin, that's probably the dynamic at work here.

I wonder how long it going to take for one power hungry person to seize all the power. You just know this is going to happen at some point. A lot of the success of this project requires mutual trust and goodwill which a doubt a bunch of people who barely know each other have. Hopefully its Gazi so his nickname black Hitler can come full circle.

By the way, if they want to go away from the colonizers, we tried this once, it was called Liberia. Dumb whites and overzealous freedmen tried to go back to Africa and start over.

Of course no one expected the ex-slaves to enslave the native Liberians and make their own southern style plantations and create a failed state relying on rubber for their economy until they collapsed into murderous civil war in the eighties, but who cares
