It's weird to look at the shoes and be like... those won't be needed again.

What are you talking about? She has two perfectly good open wounds she can play with now, just think of all the things she could rub into them. If they cut off above the knee we might see her scooping out her own bone marrow with a spoon, and if they cut below the knee we'll get to see the wonders of how a joint works when foreign objects have been inserted into them.

This will probably get lost in the flood of "EW", "HOW IS SHE NOT LOCKED UP??" and "GIMMIPICS" and I know a few of us here have speculated on "what's next" (I've already posted my predictions) but she probably won't be going for her arms.

She isn't a compulsive picker and she drops storylines/diseases whenever she can find a good reason (losing your legs is a pretty friggin good reason) so this will probably (but by no means certainly) be the end of her becht's saga. She'll post for a while about her brave recovery and she'll be nice and distracted by that attention until everyone gets bored and the silence sets in.
It's in that silence that a new symptom/storyline starts and with Kelly can just as likely be a new rare disorder as it can be about eating/fucking dogs. Maybe she'll return to her long lost prositute saga and her cult leader pimp will make her a legless fetish cam girl, or maybe she'll just grip a curling iron again until she blisters and burns.

But becht's is probably, thankfully, over.

Anyone who has been around an amputee knows how sensitive stumps can be. Rubbing fabric on the end can break open the delicate skin that covers the stump, especially when it's new-ish. Stump covers are important to use, you have to wrap them with ace bandage sometimes to keep friction down, and you have to keep them very very clean in the first few months.

Unless they tie her hands down and take care of her stumps in the hospital for the first several weeks, she's not going to heal.

Okay, I gotta say, “picking at her legs” kinda undersells what’s really going on here. When I hear that, I think about real bad nailbiters with nubs of nails and completely ruined skin on their hands. This is the equivalent of straight up just biting off the tips of your fingers. As far as my limited knowledge goes, at least in the states, such a danger to oneself or others is more than a qualifier for involuntary psych admittance. All it would have taken was one call to the cops.

Okay, so I just started reading the thread from the beginning, but I was hoping someone could possibly fill me in on one detail; Does she actually have a twin? Reading the early thread it comes across as if she is just LARPing as her own twin on the lolcow.farm posts, but in the recent posts (since hitting the front page news) I'm seeing people going along with the twin thing like it's not total bullshit and I don't know how far into the thread I'm going to need to read before I find out the shocking truth.

I’m not looking at any of those photos or videos, I value my ability to sleep at night. Just the descriptions of what Kelly did to her legs are enough to squick the shit out of me.
Not gonna lie, I pity her. But I feel worse for the medical staff that has to deal with her bullshit time and time again.

This is typical of Munchausen Syndrome. She is able to function on a daily basis and is non compliant with any mental health treatment. She is also fully aware she is lying, thus medication won’t help either. There really isn’t anything to be done.

I am reminded of one long article I read about a Munchausen by Proxy case where a mother was tried and arrested for abusing her daughter. Despite the fact she would remain in prison for the rest of her life, she would still fake afflictions for attention in prison. When visited by a family member, she had apparently learned sign language in order to pretend to be deaf, only for this charade to fail when the family member threatened to leave if she didn’t stop the act. Maybe someone knows the article I’m talking about.
