I have seen 20-something gay men, of the nelly variety, refer to themselves as a ‘gay boy’, but never in a totally serious manner. And of course there’s other situations where it’s culturally normal to refer to men as ‘boys’: the boys in blue, our boys overseas, Saturdays are for the boys.

But it’s ultimately because being trans is about a refusal to perform the adult role of either gender. Note that I am not saying an adult woman should be obligated to perform femininity/be straight/be a mother/whatever, but she should be expected to handle her own affairs, have a job and not e-beg, deal with mental illness in a sensible manner, and so on, all things FTMs struggle with. This is where their minor autism comes out.

True, tbh when all these people on Tumblr go on about how they want "boys" it sounds like they're creepy pedos. It sounds like they want children.

That's exactly what they think it is. They reduce a word (i.e. gay, man), reduce it down to stereotypes or nebulous feelings/vibes/auras, identify with the stereotypes, and then ignore the original definition.
I don't know how to articulate this well, but do you think identifying as a gnc gay boy is a way for these 100% straight and gender-conforming girls to cope with being "basic"/normal? The medieval blacksmith fantasy stood out to me- it's just some straight teenage girl fantasizing about winning over a shredded, strong man and being "protected" by him. It's completely normal for a teenaged girl, and only "progressive" or exceptional for a boy. The only thing that separates it from being a normal straight girl fantasy is the "forbidden love" trope part. In reality OP would never be discouraged from pursuing a blacksmith. They're fantasizing about a form of oppression they'll never face, even as a trans person. Even in the modern-day, if a "trans gay" person were to go to conversion therapy, they wouldn't discourage the "gay" (read: heterosexual) part unless the "trans gay" in question was interested only in other FTMs (read: actually homosexual).
Even the baker/blacksmith dynamic is gender conforming. And it resonates with 75,000 other "mlm". I know that most of this is fujo/AAP related, but I can't help think that these fujos fantasize about being oppressed to some degree, maybe as a result of too much fanfiction/the "forbidden lovers" trope/the need to be special despite being basic.

I see your point but on the other hand troonism is being actively pushed on all fronts as the new height of being special and for a basic bitch going trans-trender is the easiest way to get attention for free, also special protected class status that shields her from the very bullshit she supports like white and cis privilege

A single good thing to come of this so far:
Ozzie lesbian youtuber was experiencing Acute Blood Loss every month for 4 years due to severe endometriosis which was draining her body to the point that she could not even hold a full time job or sustain friendships.

Neither her GP or her OBGYN would even look at her uterus to figure out what was wrong with her until a mEnTaL hEaLtH pRoFeSsIoNaL forced a trans diagnosis on her simply because she said she didn't like how she couldn't wear her favorite clothes anymore after gaining a substantial amount of weight. She's been getting the bullshit "but you will want children!!! TWO children!!" runaround for 2 years and the OBGYN refuses her outright...until she brings in the Certificate of Tranny Authenticity™️ and all of a sudden he's totally happy to yank the uterus.

Only after giving her life changing invasive surgery does the OBGYN admit that her uterus was covered in a thick layer of endometrium, inside and out, and her cervix was inflamed, which could have been instantly spotted had he even agreed to do a basic exam.
Yeah, don't know how aussies are still living in the 1950s about women's health and rights and yet they bend over backwards immediately if you say you're a tranny. That's the most backwards shit I've seen yet.
