After reading through this whole thread last night and this morning, I have to disagree with the people saying she'll go for her arms next. Kellie lives to show off how fucked up she is, and if she got rid of her means of inciting illness (i.e. her fingers and hands) then no more wound pics and no more reasons to go to the doctor. Now, what would be another great area to take pictures of? Perhaps a very conventional body part, somewhere easy to show off and photograph?

I'm calling it now, if this doesn't make her stop, she's going for her face next. Remember, this woman pulled out her own root canal and posted it. Makes a lot of sense to me for this to be the next place she'd go, and I'm a little surprised she hasn't gone there yet. Perhaps it was too much for her to make her face repulsive as well? I can also see her being vain enough to avoid it, but she needs that sweet, sweet attention serotonin. "Oh man, would you look at that guys? The lesions have begun to appear on my face now that my legs are gone! Wow, can you believe it: first the tragedy of never being able to dance again, and now I won't even have my looks to rely on? God truly is cruel."

I'm honestly not surprised. She always reminded me of those self harm masochists that would cut deep to the bone. The only difference is that she goes that extra mile to fuck it up even more.

I do not see the recovery process going well at all. Her stump flap sutures will somehow be undone and she'll look like a wild animal victim.

A little off topic, but the human body can surprisingly endure a lot, especially when individuals don't want to accept the reality of their situation. Gangrene and putrefaction is usually proof of that theory. Especially when people try to maintain hope that it will get better in time.

Welp, this was a fucking rabbit hole I wasn't expecting to go down tonight.

How long until she goes full quad? I predict two years. I really do wish her the best, the optimist in me wants to believe that getting her fucking legs chopped off will be her ultimate wake up call but, unless she's locked away in an institution and put in a literal straight jacket, there's no hope and there's laws against that now.

I’m curious about a few things here.
We know Kelly was ‘wildly septic’ and surgery was a definite. The photo that Gina posted, Kelly really DOES NOT look well. What you can see of her face is so angular, and her wrists are so skinny. These last few months, she’s lost a phenomenal amount of weight. I’m assuming her body was just using whatever resources to stay alive. I’m wondering if it got to the point where it was ‘now or die’? Maybe I’m jaded, I just feel like she would have milked it more somehow.
Surely she’s got a long way to go before she’s out of the woods. Double amputation, pain management, septic, and general poor physical condition. Dealing with that before she’s even capable of fucking with anything herself has got to be a major task.
I don’t think she ever really thought it’d come to this. I think if she wanted to lose her legs, that would have happened ages ago. She didn’t want to get better either. Everything she’s done to herself has been under the guise of something else. It’s been bizarre looking at all her photos and videos with her pretending to be so confused as to why her legs were so bad. Both she, and her doctors knew it was self-inflicted, but she was so desperate to have people believe it was some terrible medical mystery. For years.
With everything that’s been documented, I don’t know how anyone can say the system has failed her. She’s had every medical intervention that she would allow, then followed up with being non-compliant or outright sabotage.
It does seem like a waste, unfortunately. I feel terrible for her doctors and surgeons who have done some amazing work, like those beautiful grafts. If she was an animal, you’d take her out and shoot her, but she’s a human, and I don’t think she really wants to die. What are they meant to do with her? Contrary to r/IF, I doubt she’s going to have some miraculous change and happily go about life and somehow re-learn ballet on prosthetics.

I dunno, it’s just weird reading all these comments everywhere. Sorry for the word vomit.

It kinda reminds me of those idiots who intentionally make themselves deaf. I'm ignorant on the medical community's views on what exact mental disorder that involves, but honestly Munchausen's seems like a good fit for that, too. Why make yourself deaf? Why, for the attention, of course! Plus the "cred" of having a disability, which people celebrate these days instead of trying to overcome or alleviate.

Every since finding this thread I've tried to find any precedent for this level of injury that was not related to extreme retardation. Only three disorders have this extreme of SIB.

1. Congenital Insensitivity to Pain which would have shown up much earlier.
2. Ley Nasch's Syndrome which once again would have shown up in childhood and is genetic.
3. Borderline Personality Disorder. Which is almost certain what she has due to all her actions.

Attachment is one of the few articles that talks about SIB to the level she exhibits.

Any updates on the cat? Is that poor critter okay?

Also, I have the feeling her stumps aren't gonna heal unless they somehow restrain her/keep her under watch. Just a mildly disturbing thought - if she gets her arms amputated, do you think she'll start chewing on the rest of her body (re: shoulders) since she can't pick anymore at that point?

Trying to figure out how the hell her legs got like that when she just kept picking at it and smearing feces on it, like how does it get that bad? Jesus.

Goddamn.. as somebody who used to look at gangrenous Russian krokodil photos for giggles, even I had to tap out before I got to the end of that imigur album. It’s all the dozens of little holes that look like some kind of rot wasps are about to erupt outta them. And she just looks pleased as punch. Thank god we don’t cruelly institutionalize the mentally ill anymore, right? Because clearly letting them do whatever the fuck they want is the humane solution.

All she has ever wanted is attention. I don't believe she wanted to lose her legs, but she wanted the attention she got from picking them to the bone even more. The double amputation is collateral damage rather than a goal, and I'd believe she's even disappointed on some level.

This is why she'll never stop. She might not continue picking specifically, but she will much until her dying breath

I’ve been checking on this thread every couple of days for months, wondering when she would either die or lose the legs. I’m honestly surprised sepsis didn’t take her first, considering how long she had necrotizing limbs.

Also, I remembered a time when she had blisters all over her hands, from a curling iron or something. I wonder if she’ll lose some fingers or a hand next?
