Go to Gina's IG acct. Her name is on the pics taken from her IG within the last 8-10 pages of this thread, and her handle is fully visible.

Interesting. I've personally never put in an IV in the head, but generally we have other peripheral access to try when the arms aren't working...like legs...

Also, damn, above the knee? Having to deal with controlling an artificial knee adds significantly to the challenge of prosthetic use. Have fun relearning to walk with artificial knees!

Typically when these things happen, Chompy ends up in the care of her roommate. She never meant to poison him, AFAIK, and if she did the resulting backlash wasn't the kind of attention she wanted, and since then he was been perfectly healthy and cared for.

I sort of just sat here staring at my fleshy, in tact leg for a moment trying to fully comprehend what she's done to it. I've been following the thread for a while and it's still beyond me how that'd feel psychologically and physically.

In hindsight I shouldn't be surprised it's above knee amputation. They'd certainly want to lop off as much necrotic tissue as possible. Here's a diagram I found:

It’s a truly startling counterpoint that puts this whole story firmly into David Lynch territory. Identical twins, one that travels the world to exotic and beautiful locales and seems by all measures to be living her best life.. and one that has literally picked her legs down to the bone and will(at best) likely never again be able to bathe without assistance for the rest of her life.

Holy shit, I remember reading the first couple pages of this thread a while ago and losing interest, can't believe it took such a wild turn so fast...I was expecting the leg abuse shit to be a somewhat recent development not 3 years 140+ pages ago...how is she just now losing them?!?

Same, never seen a scalp IV in adult medicine. Understandable that they couldn't find a good superficial arm vein on Kelly, with her shit vasculature, swollen limbs and self-harm scars. But they couldn't have an anesthetist place a deeper IV with ultrasound guidance? That's usually what we do.

But if the head IV works, it works (and makes for a nice instagram pic I suppose)

I wonder why folk like Kelly don't realise they ARE fucking ill, it's just not in the way they want to be.

She's severely mentally ill but she latches on to physical illnesses only? I guess that's how it goes for most of them. Desperately needing to be a delicate, poorly flower but never recognising the legitimate issue they have, they just want to lose limbs and any of their five senses - go big or go home.

Being a munchie isn't as jaw dropping (and open to sympathy) as ripping your decaying legs apart.

Models shoot up between their toes to avoid visible track marks during photo shoots. Likely the girl detectives were thinking of this trick...but that’s for shooting up, not for bleeding out. I doubt she’d get much blood to make cutting between her toes worth it.

It's a personality disorder, ususally Borderline Personality Disorder, that causes behavior like this. It's who they are and is really hard to treat since its their own personality traits not states.

I think I have a (more) complete rationale for the unusual IV. Her care team picked up that she was reversing the flow on her IVs, bleeding them out. The head was picked over the (better perfusing) chest because the position you would have to take to get it to start reversing is basically a headstand, or something equally obvious and blatant, not to mention uncomfortable. Since the head is above the heart, basically by default, and they are going to keep her in a lay-z-boy posture (forget the medical term for that, hahaha), it’s basically always getting to have gravity in its favor regardless of what shenanigans she tries to pull. I mean, I hope someone got a cool IV story out of this at least. “I got to do a scalp IV on an adult once!”
