I really am curious what her end game is, because anyone who wasnt a narcissist who was on the downslope of their career would be doing some careful image and reputation rehabilitation, getting back in to actual sizes that higher end plus size brands like eloqii carry, etc. Shes done literally the opposite. Gotten fatter, burned bridges, created controversy, and narrowed her career opportunities to nearly nothing. A purposeful, concerted attempt at career suicide. Its baffling.
It’s more publicity, but it’s perfect because it’s like mutually assured destruction. No one can question what she’s saying or they aren’t the perfect BOPO queens who believe that you can be anorexic at 600 lbs or HAES. If someone calls her out, they’re fatphobic. Since the only people that talk about her (other than us) is the body positive community, they’re fucked because they can’t call her out without her firing back saying that they’re being fatphobic for assuming that she can’t be anorexic.

It dawned on me what a fuck you this is to her fans. Back when she was relevant there were all these fat girls who loved tess because she was a "beautiful" (i suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder) woman who was confident in her weight and looked like them. Sure, these women were using her as an excuse to not lose weight but that's a moot point here, Tess got famous off of validating insecure fat girls. I can imagine a fat Tess fan being genuinely sad at losing a role model. But then again, maybe this will make fatties wake up. :optimistic:

If having an ED isn‘t shameful, why won’t she cop to having a food addiction or Binge Eating Disorder? We all know how much more prevalent overeating is — she’d be boosting support for a greater number of people if she did, since that’s clearly something she’s so passionate about...

Because then she’d be dangerously close to acknowledging that overeating leads to weight gain...which as HAES tells us, is totally untrue because every other fatty they know only eats salads, plus sometimes they see skinny girls eating cheeseburgers, so there you are.

as well as some comments. she’s going to be deep in this delusion with all of the comments not only applauding her but apparently she’s not alone in this.

Some of those replies are almost painful to read, though a very useful insight into the sort of person who still, after all this time, considers Tess a "role model."

I've "always wanted to hear" that I just inherited a nine-figure amount of money and can now afford anything I could possibly want -- but if I actually lived by this principle it wouldn't take long for me to completely ruin my life.

"We have always heard that anorexia is for skinny people but what about big people?" Easy: they don't have anorexia. See also "We have always heard that dwarfism is for really short people, but what about really tall people -- easy, they don't have dwarfism" and "We have always heard acne was for people with pimples, but what about people with clear skin -- easy, they don't have acne" for additional examples.

are people just forgetting that once you fall into anorexia, it’s often hard to get your natural weight back, and your mentality is completely adjusted to what made you anorexic in the first place?? if you look at ashley isaacs for example, it would probably take her three or more years to look like an actual, healthy human again. tess is using this for brownie points because her fat ass can’t stand to be irrelevant right now

what’s so funny is that she should’ve claimed bulimia and everyone would probably believe her but she’s probably too dumb to know a difference; bulimia is the eating disorder that makes you balloon up because you’re just forcefully eating more, THEN throwing up/feeling ashamed and doing the same thing all over again

Power level— I used to go on MPA when I was younger and going through some shit. There was a definite hierarchy to EDs on there (and other sites too). No one would ever admit to having BED. That was a bridge too far for them. The fact that she went straight to anorexia is interesting. I wonder if she ever went on those sites.

I love her casual drop of “sat down with GMA today” as if she’s a hot guest who’s constantly called in for it, a well-circulated guest of television who is even now in demand.

This was probably the most exciting thing for Tess in the last six months that wasn’t covered in icing.

People in general aren’t watching news on TV as much as they used to, so I doubt many people actually tuned in. I feel like she would have gotten more exposure if she went on some popular YouTube talk show as opposed to older media.

That said, Tess is even lucky to get featured on GMA these days. I’ve watched some of her older interviews when she was far more popular and she was just as dim as she is now, with a boring personality to boot. She couldn’t talk on those shows beyond herself and “body positivity”.

Even her fashion and makeup commentary left a lot to be desired, as she doesn’t even take the time to learn basic fashion terms when describing clothes, such as names of certain patterns and cuts. Anna, for as spastic as she is, is better at describing clothing and she isn’t even a model. Anna still has as terrible taste as Tess, but as far as watchability goes, Anna still has Tess beat there.

Hiring Tess for a talk show section is only a good business move if your intention is to find a cure for insomnia. It’s no wonder that Tess’s venture into podcasting is also doing poorly.

As a side note though, I do hope Tess gets hired for a few more shoots here and there, or at least one more venture on the runway because seeing her hurple in ill fitting garments and attempting to look thinner is one of the most entertaining things in this thread. I know her doing that regularly is long gone, but having just one more laugh at that would truly make me happy.

in Tess-adjacent news, prepare for more desperate, coattail-riding BFF4ever tweets at Olly:

Hopefully Olly will come on the pod. I would love an hour of footage of them sitting side by side, tiny little Olly and Tess's anorexia-ravaged 400-pound body, for visibility and awareness.
This explains why she was able to get into Australia. Assuming she’s a dual citizen, she wouldn’t have needed a visa

Not only that, the biggest reason for claiming anorexia is that it's seen as a "sexy" eating disorder. It also act as a shield against talk of losing weight. You wouldn't tell an anorexic person to lose weight, right? #500iq

Unfortunately I don't think there's any chance of her appearing on the catwalk again. We don't want anorexic women setting the beauty standard, right? 😏

This was great! Not emotionally charged arguements but valid points. Sometimes Tess reaction videos can be spergy?? However, she used Tess’ past interviews and social media posts to back up her debate talking points.
I like her channel a lot. She does very in-depth and well researched videos. She has a few about some of the deathfats on here that are well-balanced and not mean-spirited at all (not gonna lie I like those types of videos too, lol).

She's got some great videos on the Slaton sisters that are like a textbook course on bad coping mechanisms.

I do take issue with people pearl clutching that these news outlets are 'supporting' Tess' anorexia assertions. They are pretending to support Tess to get access to Tess. The way that they are framing everything lets me know that they DEFINITELY expect their readers and watchers to tune in to laugh or seethe.

It's like inviting the one horrible fat singer to karaoke and telling her she's actually GREAT. Or letting the short fat kid try hurdles in track by telling him you think he can do it. You've got to lie about your intentions if you wanna see the full show.
