Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

People give well deserved shit to those companies for their extremely predatory microtransactions and practices, but I personally haven't seen anyone discuss the crazy costs some packs are in these games that are marketed towards kids.

I don't know the value of any of these since I don't play any of them, but I do know that Roblox content creators pop some of these packs like candy and that kind of mentality trickles down to their viewerbase, probably 95% children. I have no doubt this kind of stuff is creating little consumers.
Roblox robux packs cost about 4.99 per 400 and according to the math I did that’s 80 robux per dollar. That would mean that in approximation, that would be around on average 1.50 or 2.00 a pop while some are around 3 or 4. Idk much about mtx on stuff like fifa or overwatch but are those keys and loot boxes about the same price?

At least with AAA games doing this shit you can reasonably expect that if you pay for something it'll stick around for a few years, with Roblox games there are no expectations that the game will even let you keep your stuff for a few MONTHS.

How can the creators of ROBLOX games get away with this? Its like they know that kids are going to be gullible and shit demanding their parents to buy them builders club.

Takes me back to when I played Club Penguin. Consoomer propaganda everywhere (even though I played as a kid back then) to the point where we have the “haves” and the “have nots.”

PS: I joined ROBLOX back in 2010, and the community was better back then without the consoomer bullshit, and tix too. ROBLOX Removed it because they were greedy.

I bet you we, as in humanity are raising little consoomers too. That my friends is horrifying.

I did get around to playing two of those games, Ill start with Adopt Me!, turns out it also has an in game shop for its currency and consumables. And the rate at you gain money is painfully slow, you do tasks for 6-8$ or wait 10 minutes for 20$ or so. There's also a bunch of ingame shops where things regularly cost more then 100$ and pets themselves have rarity tiers, legendaries have a 3% chance and the lowest "egg" you could buy was 350$. You could speedup the hatching of your pets for 45 Robux I think.

This was the cheapest egg

This is also the cheapest Rattle barring consumables.

Now onto the other game, Royale High. Turns out, it also has a in game shop but diamonds aren't a premium currency as I thought and are just the standard currency. So looking at these it may not seem bad, but then I entered the shops and there were only 2 items listed at around 250-350 or so. Everything there has a minimum cost of 2k and oftentimes even more. Wings varied but were more expensive, especially for the measely 50 diamonds you get to start. I don't know the free ways of getting this currency, this game was too laggy to bother with.

Its only a matter of time before someone perfects a stamina system for these games and turn Roblox games into another version of existing mobile games.

I believe at one point loot boxes were super rampant, but around the time that governments began to push back on that kind of thing Roblox up and banned devs from using that tactic. Maybe they've got a ruleset to ban shady things like stamina systems too? It's at least a start.

I don't know what offends me more, the content of the videos of the fact that THEY WERE ALL TAKEN IN PORTRAIT MODE.

Club Penguin wasn’t as bad though since it didn’t have a premium currency, everything used the same currency but the ability to purchase some things was locked behind a subscription fee that came to about £60 a year. So there was a hard limit on how much Club Penguin shit you could consoom with real money in that sense, whereas modern kids vidya will let them go all out as long as they can get their hands on mommy’s credit card.

Not to mention that, again, depending on when you purchased from club penguin, you could reasonably assume you could come back to the game at some point and still have your shit. Roblox devs might as well be fly by night Chinese corporations in comparison. They have no obligations, no regulations, no rules most of the time to even want to stay developing their games past a certain point. Once a game loses popularity it's just a time sink, and on Roblox it also means you'll have to constantly maintain it or have it break sometime in the future. Roblox already effectively broke most classic games by removing features that most of them used like 'hopperbins' just because they could potentially be a security flaw despite no modern devs utilizing them because they were inherently already deprecated. They want everyone constantly moving forward, mindlessly developing on their 'future' technology. It's almost a consoomerist attitude toward game design. The only games not subject to this idea are games purely made out of parts and that have no scripting, but I've even heard of these kinds of projects somehow breaking, physics wise, or having parts just zap out of existence for no reason some years after creation.

Kinda dig the mug, but knowing that "everyone" has it makes me not want it.
The official Versace mug is about 1000 usd, so not everyone can afford it. Too bad it looks retarded and even the spiky Starbucks one looks more expensive.

It kinda baffles me that cunts like her is into designer stuff, but still manages to look cheap. But sure, even though designers actually make Airpods cases, earrings and minipurses, she still buys bootlegs. There's a reason for why designer stuff is expensive, to separate the wealthy from the poors. Anyway, Gucci is a trashy brand for criminals anyway.

I like the dead eyes, someone has commented that they think my big fella looks creepy. It just mirror how I feel inside.
Always thought there's a distinct difference between Japanese and Western plushies. Western ones always manages to make them retarded and more "childish". I do like some of ones under, actually got the bigger brown bear in the orange cat suit and the bigger white one in the grey cat suit at my parents place. Too much here anyway.

That honestly looks so tacky that I'd assume it was a fake if you didn't tell me.
The crystals are of course only cheap glass. The sister of the founder which was murdered, could at least copy and paste the barocco design onto it. Which actually is a nice one.

I'm truly MATI at his sister Donatella
ngl these are actually cute
Name is Rilakkuma (brown, male)
Korilakkuma (white, female)
Kiiroitori (bird, male)
Chairoikoguma (chest hair- male)

Company is San-X and those pics were from the Rilakkuma plebbit. When I was really into it, I saw a tendency of asian chicks collecting Rilakkuma and Louis Vuitton bags, of all things + the small keychain plushies one were hung onto the bag. I don't like the small ones though, since the details gets muddled even on the official ones.

"cheugy" of course someone comes up with a dumb term for their tacky modern 'fashion' and they co-opt it to act like they're part of some special group.

Squishmallows are so generic they'd blend in with any people of flat piece from any business. At least 2000s blind boxes usually had some sort of unique style. These and belizis are just mass manufactured blobs. They could probably just have a neural net autogenerate them infinitely.

The "Travis Scott Meal" they had at McDonald's last year seemed pretty consoomer. His favorite order isn't really anything all that special, and yet because his name is attached to it, that automatically makes it worth buying. Nevermind the fact that I doubt Travis Scott, with all of the money he has, eats at McDonald's all that often.

There was also the "J. Balvin Meal" a few months later, but I don't think he was popular enough that anyone gave a damn. Also, his meal is even less complex than Travis Scott's (although getting a free McFlurry with the app sounds like a good deal.)

I hadn't heard of funkopops until this thread. Is it a yankee doodle thing?

As for Disney world/land, no idea which is which, if you're a grown man and you're in to disney, you're probably a closet homosexual, pedophile or watcher of small boys.

Yeah i don't care if your two daughters love disney, who introduced them to disney? You did, you nonce.

To clarify, @Vingle, it's not the simple circles that makes them "dead eyes", nor the full-black eyes themselves. It's the overall design.
Like @Toolbox pointed out, the Squishmallows and Bellizis are "blobs" with simple eyes tacked on, while things like things like Rilakuma have the proportions that make something actually cute.
As an example, compare the feature (eyes, forehead, mouth, head shape) manipulations in these images:
cute.jpg

To this:
s-l400.jpg

And then contrast with this:
Shop-Squishmallow-Plush-Teal-Dino-16-inch.jpg

There's no clear body or head. It's just a blob. They're all just blobs with features and the occasional accessories sewn on to the base pillow:
2b3c3bd4-7d1f-4da3-a871-472b5adbb90f.573007c4666d04fdf866e3e9669e9726.jpg

Even when we look at Korilakuma, and the body is a smaller, recolored version of the main bear, it makes sense because they're both bears based on traditional teddy bears. They don't then paint it yellow and say "Oh, this one is Kiiroitori now."
