Its missing a lot of options but it is still fun to experiment with. I'm still happy I learned you can knock guards out with magazines.
This might seem odd but I miss David Hayter, not because I dislike Kiefer Sutherland but because I doubt he's going to be having 5 minute long conversations about eating horses, poop robots, ufos and all the other dumb codec calls.
PW is canonical. It's only as integral as you really want it to be.I got a question, is Peace Walker really integral to the series and is it a long game that I got to commit a lot of time to? I got Peace walker a long time ago and didn't really care much for it becasue of the controls and quit playing it until I completely forgot about it, but right now I've been holding out on getting Ground Zeroes and MGSV becasue I'm worried that I won't be able to understand the plot build up to those game's stories if I miss out on Peace Walker.
Story-wise, only some elements of Peace Walker really affect the series. It marks the beginning of Big Boss creating Outer Heaven and the speech he makes at the end of the game, at least the way I see it, is the start of him becoming a villain. It also looks into Snake's relationship with the Boss as her death and his own guilt are a big part of it. There are elements that do relate with MGSV and GZ like Paz, Mother Base, etc.. As a whole, it relates way more with the series than Portable Ops did.I got a question, is Peace Walker really integral to the series and is it a long game that I got to commit a lot of time to? The biggest thing that happens during it is Big Boss basically founds a mercenary company.

I will say this, PW is one of my favorite games in the MGS series. I'll go as far as to say it's only behind MGS3 in being my favorite. The story is fantastic, and gameplay-wise, I think it has most replayability out of any of the MGS games thanks to building up Mother Base, upgrading your soldiers, and side missions that also have new boss fights. I definitely say it's worth it
I'll tell you this much about the bosses in PW though. They are a tad disappointing in terms of variation compared to other bosses in the series. Thanks for the info, I'll get Peace Walker and give it another try and see how it works out.
I already have it. I'm just excited about the rest of the features, especially the ones I liked in PW.Have you given Ground Zeroes a try? Its free on Xbox one and on Steam if you preorder Phantom Pain.

Don't forget they take forever to kill because they were designed to be fought cooperatively.I'll tell you this much about the bosses in PW though. They are a tad disappointing in terms of variation compared to other bosses in the series.
MGS1: Cyborg Ninja, Guy with Revolver fetish, Minigun Shaman, Russian Sniper woman with massive tits, a giant robot, your cloned brother.
MGS PW: Some military vehicles and some different types of robots.
Oh yeah me too. I can't wait to show off to my brother who hasn't seen anything about the game yet. Won't he be surprised when he sees horse poop cause a jeep accident. I'm also happy to build up a new merc company.I already have it. I'm just excited about the rest of the features, especially the ones I liked in PW.
I actually managed to emulate Peace Walker and play Co-Op with a friend online. It was alot more fun than the time I finished it singleplayer. Of course that could be because anything would be more fun when friends are involved.Don't forget they take forever to kill because they were designed to be fought cooperatively.
I hope there's offline multiplayer so I can play it with my brother.Oh yeah me too. I can't wait to show off to my brother who hasn't seen anything about the game yet. Won't he be surprised when he sees horse poop cause a jeep accident. I'm also happy to build up a new merc company.
Reminds me of this one time where this one dude gave our group parts of human slingshots and signaled us to get ready. I hadn't used it before so I accidentally attacked them with it. When I figured it out, we one shotted a helicopter. It was magnificent.I actually managed to emulate Peace Walker and play Co-Op with a friend online. I think the "weapon to surpass metal gear" they're talking about in MGSV's trailer may be the human slingshot.I hope there's offline multiplayer so I can play it with my brother.

Bare in mind that MGS1 takes place in 2005. And this literally happens during it.Metal gear has always had technology ahead of its time. Even in MGS3 there were some tech ahead of it's time such as stealth camo and the WIG they used to fly out. It got much more so in Peace Walker. You could develop the Soliton Radar even though it said Mei Ling invented it much later.
What I'm saying is that MGSV has technology way ahead of it's sequels. Whatever happens that turns the Diamond Dogs into Outer Heaven must really set them back or else Solid Snake never would never stand a chance. I'm not trying to complain, I find it really entertaining and can't wait to use it all.Metal gear has always had technology ahead of its time. Doesn't Snake also actually 360 no scope Sniper Wolf? They should have called the game Metal Gear Solid: Back Flip edition. And yet everyone got pissed off when this happened in the Twin Snakes
Let's be straight here though, the cutscenes in Twin Snakes were really stupid
And yet everyone got pissed off when this happened in the Twin SnakesAll of the games more or less operate on anime logic.
Let's be straight here though alot of the cutscenes in Twin Snakes were so stupid and campy that they looped back around and became FUCKING GREAT.And yet everyone got pissed off when this happened in the Twin Snakes
