He's now in the denial stage where he is selectively banning posters for 'politics' while 'politics' is rife in the black superman thread.

I was just noting that it's unlikely that Amir0x has been posting as SF Kosmo because he was literally in prison, not just internet limited.

ManaByte has been around for decades now. Nobody_Important was on GAF prior to the implosion too.

Evilore has always favored certain people and promoted a culture that favors certain people over others. Before the implosion this was how the mods ran things, this is how Reset ERA runs things because their ideal is GAF. Even certain outright legitimate trolls (not the fake version ERA claims to have) on GAF got leeway because they had mods who liked them, which I'm not necessarily complaining about but noting that was the way of things. They could just be on a Discord or Steam or something with Evilore and get that type of treatment. He's not very smart and massaging his ego has always been pathetically easy despite his thin skin.

Really, the bigger question I would think regarding nu-GAF is who the hell the moderators are. Many of them are obvious alts that popped up overnight.

He managed to get caught both in 2018 and 2019 with CP, the only reason he didn't in 2020 was because he was serving time. I don't trust him not to fuck things up now that he's out. Though seeing everyone you listed end up eating shit in some way would make at least my week, if not my day.

For people like Jim Sterling, they're locked in. They have no transferable skills and an entry level job isn't going to give the money and clout they're used to.

Jason is different. I assume he's holding out for a cushy job as a political columnist despite the "orange man bad" market being crowded and dying.

Pre-GamerGate, it was normal for journalists to jump from journalism to PR or being a test reviewer*, but I've not heard of that happening for a while. It could be they got good at covering their tracks, but more likely they're too toxic to touch.

*I don't know if test reviewer is the right name. It was a guy who wrote game reviews for publishers for internal use. Jeff Gerstmann talked about it when he was fired from GameSpot.

Jason landed a job at Bloomberg as a self titled "investigative journalist", so I guess he fashions himself as someone attempting to elevate the profession of games journalism, which has traditionally been nothing more than pop culture commentary. His obvious problem is that all of his pieces are tabloid - not setting out to inform or uncover things unknown to the non-industry reader, but rather to elicit an emotional response - click bait, a call to those who wallow in endless outrage and cancellations, etc.

Whatever, I don't have much of an opinion about the man. If he's earning a living grifting the types of people who frequent ResetEra then great. More power to him. They deserve each other.
