I think if I was black, I'd feel that way too. I'd want to be "human" before being "black". I'd want my art to be "good art", not "a black person's art". And it would frustrate me endlessly to see black misery played out over and over again in every movie, TV show, and comic book. I can't figure out why more black people don't feel like this... or are willing to admit they feel like this.

Obesity is considered a medical condition for a reason -- it wrecks your body and it'll eventually kill you. Telling people "nah, you're beautiful no matter what!" gives people an excuse not to bother with weight loss and better self care. And it's just mean to lie to people. If you're obese, you really don't look good and you aren't very attractive to anyone outside a very small group of people with a fat fetish.

He's one of those endlessly entertaining people who just can't comprehend why people hate him so much no matter how many times people spell it out for him. He's also a perfect example of the journoscum class: lies all the time, displays open contempt for what's supposed to be his intended audience and actively blocks and ignores any and all criticism, calling it "harassment" and taking none of it to heart.

I've always been fascinated by this archetype. Strolls through life thinking he's always right and doing a good job in the face of overwhelming evidence and sentiment to the contrary. And acts super arrogant about it. I still don't understand why he writes about an industry he obviously hates, though. It's not like he accomplishes much of anything. The gaming industry largely doesn't give a shit about him (the other sentiments it feels towards him are "disgust and annoyance"), his intended audience absolutely loathes him and he's probably "maxed out" his career at this point with his move to Bloomberg or whatever. The only way he can really advance any further is to cover a different industry, but he seems content to bellyache about games.
