I don't put much stake in the anime-to-troon pipeline. Similar to the DOOM-to-school shooter pipeline, I think if you're capable of doing something that fucked up then you're only looking for an excuse; a cartoon or video game isn't what tipped the scales.

Then again I am a fucking weeb, so maybe this is all just cope.

I don't think it's nearly so simple as anime = troon pipeline. Being a weeb just implies a list of things that increases one's likelihood of getting closer to the event horizon of the black (am)hole.
  • Somewhat socially outcast. Let's face it, watching anime isn't exactly playing sports or anything that hits the "hot guy" list. Any level of outcast leaves one more susceptible to all kinds of creepy grooming cults.
  • Probably terminally online. You're watching it through some streaming service. You've got the internet literacy for it. Troon cults thrive on the internet.
  • Creeper ecchi shit. You may not be watching it, but it exists within the genre. It creates some overlap in that venn diagram.
  • Autism, mild or major. There are tons of theories, but animu seems to go over well with the spergs. I'm in the camp that thinks the exaggerated emoting helps the socially-challenged relate to it better.
There's a constellation of factors that lead to the great troonout. Anime happens to have overlap with several of them, so it's not surprising to see it happen a lot with weebs.

I agree there's strong correlation, I just don't think it's a trigger for trooning out. More likely you already wanna troon out and then you start watching a bunch of anime that has androgynous (if not straight-out trap) characters and that feeds into your delusion that you too can be the kawaai neko gf, but the desire has to be there to begin with. It's similar to how fat nerds used to escape into superhero comics and live vicariously through all the ripped badasses in those; guarantee you if it was as easy to go on a juice cycle as it is to get on titty skittles there'd have been a bunch of roided out Comic Book Guys in the 80s and 90s just like there are a plague of troons now.

You could say the same about vidya: Games like Rapeplay and Hatred exist, yeah, but the vast majority of people who play games have no interest in that shit, so I don't think it's fair to point to its existence and the niche of degenerates who consoom it as proof the entire orchard is rotten.

I think autism is the strongest, most consistent factor in all of this, combined with the growing trend of parents allowing their kids, sperg or otherwise, to be raised by the internet. That's a breeding ground for all forms of extremism, it just happens that trooning out is the easiest and carries the most benefits, so the path of least resistance wins out.

I wouldn't necessarily discount a different order of operations; imagine being an impressionable teenager watching anime. Going online to discuss it with fellow fans. Tranny goblins pounce and lie him into the cult before anyone can think to warn him. It's not the anime that did it, mind you, but it brought this hypothetical teenager to troonery. I wouldn't blame a forest for containing an ogre cave, but I'd tell passers-by that something hideous made its home there.

That scenario seems eminently plausible, but it also seems like there's no community troons haven't infested at this point, so while the anime fandom might have been ground zero for a lot of this shit I think we're now at the point where it's best to assume there's a tranny groomer basically anywhere you go online.

I think Jersh has even discussed it on his podcast; how even in Discords for stuff as benign as programming there's usually a room for degenerate coomers to discuss traps.

maybe it's a moment of clarity, maybe it's vulnerable narcissism ™. this is quite common in trans people.

VN is when someone is the resentful, envious, and depressed type of narcissist. not the "i'm god!" narcissist.
they are still entitled and believe they are superior to others, but feel that they have been wronged/cheated.
a VN is more likely to threaten suicide when they don't get their way, or seek pathetic pity points, or complain.
they're highly neurotic and their experience centers around ego and its injury. they have little to no empathy.

remember this condition. narcissistic traits are advantageous in modern society because, simply, they work.
