General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

So, you're saying my accent is funny? Or that I should apply?
Both.

I am surprised to find out that Beatani is Japanese. From her accent, I thought she was Spanish or Mexican. Also, whoever is doing her vtuber wiki page is obsessive.
Someone here said that she edited it mostly herself.

What's the usual protocol on indie Vtubers retiring into a company? The auditions were almost half a year ago, so if this were to be it, that seems like pretty late timing.

Since the time might be coming soon, I think it's kinda interesting that close to the end of auditions, Nijisanji's Twitter page tried to get in touch with Porter Robinson for a collab. https://twitter.com/NIJISANJI_World/status/1337284201268215810

What does this mean? Probably absolutely nothing, but it does at least show that there had been or still are intentions to bust in along with significant promotion that Hololive didn't opt for. Admittedly they're probably gonna need it, considering that it doesn't seem like they've been able to succeed in boosting interest/awareness to a point Hololive got to (which in itself seemed kinda by luck). I think it's because they either lack or haven't focused on the "cute retard effect"; that's what got Holo a lot of attention, considering a lot of people at that time were interested in Korone and Fubuki, not even Coco. Niji kinda had that with Roa, but she still hasn't streamed since her shitshow with Meiro.
There's a great number of reasons Nijisanji still hasn't taken off despite their best efforts. Some more fixable than others.

The main one is accessibility on YouTube, though. All of Hololive has on their 'Channels' feed every other member of Hololive in the exact order they joined the company. Subscribing to all 30+ of them in your plight to throw yourself headlong into the rabbit hole takes a matter of seconds, and this is made even simpler by the fact that Hololive have a uniform channel name and it's predominantly in English.

I've honestly subscribed to some Niji members without knowing they were affiliated with the company, never mind what branch, and the prospect of understanding the generations, in-jokes and ongoing bits/stories between members is a daunting task to some.

The second factor is their content. Nijisanji's big collaborations are often massive quizzes or other events that are extremely heavy on talking. There's a lot of talk streams, their new anime project doesn't seem to have translations for those who need it etc. It's why I believe western fans largely ignored Yuzuki Choco - her content has a much higher rite of passage than the others.

Hololive absolutely fluked their interest from the west, and I do honestly think Nijisanji is packing with talent that could take off if they were given the chance. The problem is that Ichikara's only attempt to reach the EN market so far has been by rebranding a failing IN branch in a vain attempt to seize some attention from the Hololive boom, and then make a very obviously corporate decision to have some of them speak English on Reddit before promptly never acknowledging the English language ever again in their streams.

It's very botched right now, and needs a hard reset in the form of a good NijiEN launch. Promote the fuck out of them, get more Bilinguals into the JP branch and start cross-pollinating viewers. Get more translators on board, and for the love of God stop reaching out to reaction channels like Koefficient and Izaya's Hub.

Gura polling her members about whether she should proceed with RE8 with JP voices and subtitles, or wait for the EN voices, which she doesn't expect permissions for "in the near future."
She should go for it, still dont understand the issue with the english voices
She said it, subs over dubs

Tonight, /vt/ made a small indie JPtuber cry.

Tears of joy, since it was Beatani's birthday.

I assume someone in the English Voice cast is under a union, and they have it part of their contract that they should recieve secondary compensation i.e. bonuses, for monetization of their voice clips (which may include streams, don't quote me on this)
Nah. Most likely Cover only got the go-ahead for the Japanese version as far as game permissions are concerned.

Probably, it's the result of the voice actors strike a couple of years ago.

If this were the case, nobody would be able to monetize streams of RE8.

Hololive falls under the Non-Commercial Use if I'm right and need further talks to gain permission, while streamers in general falls under Permissible Monetization that they allow.
