General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Cute

Lets be real, she need a channel and some merchadising, people would buy it
A-chan is best girl. Her english is also really good.

Gura polling her members about whether she should proceed with RE8 with JP voices and subtitles, or wait for the EN voices, which she doesn't expect permissions for "in the near future."
She should just go with JP instead of waiting 1-2 months.

Sounds like a reasonable explanation to me, at least there wasn't any spam during that stream.
I think the Apex thing has been mentioned on here before, if you machine translate this you get a rough idea of what happened: https://archive.md/XH04o

(tl;dr some guy pulled a Leeroy Jenkins, got mad and started cussing Aqua in the chat, which somehow attracted a bunch of Taiwanese antis to her channel. not sure if there were any other incidents, but this is the only one I've heard of)

Also found a clip of one of the guys restreaming her (no idea what he's saying, but he disliked the original stream): https://www.twitch.tv/rizer_osu/clip/PoisedTriumphantNigiriStoneLightning-yAfnzB8e7hae9KCw

I'm not Japanese so I can't really extrapolate what the actual Japanese word(s) are, but she talks about it here. (Timestamped)

The word I understood without problems was "shika" which I also don't like because I'm not using it in the sentences properly and will most likely lose points because of that on upcoming JLPT N4.

Also Rick and Mo... I mean Rikka and Mori's song is great.

It's not Coco's antis, but Aqua's antis
They are her antis because of Coco

She should go for it, still dont understand the issue with the english voices

Riku Tazumi, Ichikara's CEO, posted a very interesting message in the Nijisanji subreddit and people are losing their minds.

It could be anything, so don't 100% expect teaser of NijiEN but it IS the most likely outcome IMO

I'm very interested what they have to offer. They have the opportunity to bring something new to the table: male EN vtubers affiliated with a big company, people with unique talents and so on, so many ideas tested in Japan (Deep Web Underground vtuber :smug: ) just waiting to be introduced to English-speaking audience. It will be another female-only group of idol-like talents.

Chinese speaker here. Just did a quick catch-up with the Aqua apex kerfuffles, It seems more like a flame war between Taiwanese Apex players, that didn't know and care about Hololive, criticizing Aqua's playstyle, and Aqua's fans, that overreacted upon seen their Ido insulted. The whole thing blew up and quickly died out back in January. It definitely didn't have anything to do with nationalism. Also the narrative about Taiwanese people thinking Aqua was into CCP can only be constructed by someome who were used to having limited freedom of information, which Taiwan does not.
Aqua of all people.. Some gaymers, seriously.

Whatever this is, it's exciting.

So basically
"random guy shit talks someone's waifu, hilarity ensues"

A tale as old as time.

Assuming this is NijisanjiEN, it means that Miki's graduation can't be related to it as she is still yet to actually retire her character.

So those hoping she reincarnates into a company (myself included) then the door is most prominently open for HoloEN Gen 2.

Male EN you say? Not saying it means shit, but this dude literally popped into my notifications today. I didn't think anything of it until now. Male EN going on permanent hiatus.

Probably nothing but..maybe?

What's the usual protocol on indie Vtubers retiring into a company? The auditions were almost half a year ago, so if this were to be it, that seems like pretty late timing.

Since the time might be coming soon, I think it's kinda interesting that close to the end of auditions, Nijisanji's Twitter page tried to get in touch with Porter Robinson for a collab. https://twitter.com/NIJISANJI_World/status/1337284201268215810

What does this mean? Probably absolutely nothing, but it does at least show that there had been or still are intentions to bust in along with significant promotion that Hololive didn't opt for. Admittedly they're probably gonna need it, considering that it doesn't seem like they've been able to succeed in boosting interest/awareness to a point Hololive got to (which in itself seemed kinda by luck). I think it's because they either lack or haven't focused on the "cute retard effect"; that's what got Holo a lot of attention, considering a lot of people at that time were interested in Korone and Fubuki, not even Coco. Niji kinda had that with Roa, but she still hasn't streamed since her shitshow with Meiro.

Normal procedures dictate that they graduate of their indie persona but there has been a trend of some of them keeping their avatars, Hololive only has 1 example of it and is mostly how Vshoujo and Tsunderia operate

Who knew that it only takes a couple of Japanese only girls to say nigger to get popular.
