Should you watch "Mint Salad Makes A Mural"? If you are just looking for cringe lolcow material, then no, because this video is actually pretty wholesome and relaxed. I imagine if this kind of video was our introduction to the group instead of the abrasive "voidgazer/chaser" vlogs, Digi's old audience would be generally much more receptive towards them.

Mint Salad comes off as the most likable of the group, which is saying something, considering she is pretty autistic and low IQ(?) (she also throws the biggest hands, as Gunt can confirm). The last Q&A/rants4pay stream they did was somewhat comfy and relaxing, with Mint Salad drawing on the whiteboard behind Digi; Bird looks like something out of the Adams Family as his big bulging eyes fixate on playing Red Dead Redemption 2, with his big lanky arms working away at the keyboard & mouse, and Billy sucks all the atmosphere out of the room with his negativity towards "haters" (as does Bird, for that matter). Frankly Conrad should repeat that again with just Mint drawing in the background as he rants; she could even do drawing requests (assuming she didn't do that before; I didn't watch the whole Q&A).

It bugs the hell out of me that he doesn't even bother to have a proper part in his hair. It's not even brushed right. Seems like a petty detail but it shows just how low-effort he is about every aspect of himself. Even the transitioning thing, fine, getting rid of facial hair is difficult and expensive but it's super easy to groom your eyebrows. Digi is way too self absorbed and narcissistic to an hero. If it isn't obvious by now, he isn't super committed to his troonery (because he never commits himself to fucking anything) so if he realizes that he will never be a woman he'll probably just give it up like he does everything else he sets out to do instead of joining the 41% club. It is a natural defence mechanism. No matter what feedback you get, just focus on the feedback and engagement that supports you. Subjecting oneself to the actual opinion of a majority is not a game most can play and win, so this type of attitude is actually very common for minor artists and people in general. One cannot continue in the state of being hated by what they feel to be their "tribe," so it demands a redefinition of who belongs to that tribe, or alternatively to reflect and try to move in line with the negative feedback. One is obviously easier than the other. Change is hard.


The situation is intractable from our perspective, because in order to be heard we must be ingratiated and in order to be ingratiated we must agree with decisions and lifestyles we (or I, at least) do not. It is likely that on some points that we all are in such an unreachable state from the perspective of the other. A lolcow is just someone who displays this obstinance under the intense spotlight of the internet.

I used to think digi was a really decent writer as well, but that was before I recognized the truth that he is fundamentally unable to separate his writing from himself, his personal life and his own whims, so he is always destined to remain "decent" at best and never truly ascend to one of the greats who write because they love writing and what they write about. He was sort of on the right path to that with his anime analcyst videos but even then, I wouldn't say that many of them hold up. Asswar sticks out in my mind like a flare but everything else is so much noise.

Personally I don't know the logistics behind suddenly stopping HRT, but I imagine any effects the hormones had done quickly begin to fade, based on what I've seen other trans people say about the matter.
...Not that anything seemed to actually be changing in the first place.
