>Sonic '06 has a trio of satanic-themed villains - Ibilis, Mephiles, and Solaris
>Ibilis is the Beast, Mephiles is the False Prophet, and Solaris is the Antichrist
>6 is the main number of mark of the beast
>Sonichu has similarities to '06; Sonichu 6 was finished after Sonic '06's release and subsequent issues seem to have aped some elements of '06 as well
>Chris created Sonichu
>Chris is the Antichrist, Sonichu is the Beast, and Barb is the False Prophet confirmed

You things are dry in Chris-land when this thread isn't locked but the "What if" thread is.

How many comics came out after `06's release?

Sonichu Issue 6 was finished after the game came out. Every issue after 6 was made after Chris presumably played the game. Also, the game was hyped for about 2 years online prior to the release so Chris was anticipating the biggest Sonic release for his "next gen" (at the time) game console during the beginning of his Sonichu run.

I only played the DEMO for Sonic '06 and I thought it felt so unfinished because it was just a demo... guess I was wrong about that.

I guess it's just the 3D Sonic games in general, huh? It's weird to me how convoluted Sonic became and Chris really digs all of those overly complex melodramatic "story" elements of the series. Originally Sonic's story was very simple and gameplay was what you were mainly getting in the 2D games. Later on the gameplay suffered and cut scenes had the most polish out of anything in the game.
Turned it into anime, that's what they did.

I don't doubt that Sonic '06 probably did influence Sonichu, because Chris is just that unoriginal, but as others have already pointed out, Sonichu had already been unleashed upon the world before Sonic '06 was ever released. Besides, Chris doesn't really views series or franchises the same way most people do. To him, there's no continuities, no remakes, every Sonic video game, comic and TV show seems to blend into one continuous, nebulous concept of 'retarded blue hedgehogs.' I mean look at how he freaking sperged out over the blue arms. If anything, its more accurate to say that every element of Sonic (and Pokemon) was plagiarized to create Sonichu, and that Chris just ran with whatever was most current in his mind at the time.

He prefers Filmation's Ghostbusters over The Real Ghostbusters. His taste is arbitrary and obsessive, and has little to do with actual quality.

I've always found that interesting. I suppose its a side effect of Barb's 'bargain bin' parenting, but Chris seems to have grown up on a mixture of familiar franchises that all of us would know - like Sonic, Pokemon or Transfomers - and obscure stuff that only he would know or care about. But what's fascinating is that he can't seem to distinguish between the two.

Ah, that explains it!

I knew that since Day One, of course since Chris can't get past that, we're along for the ride.

That is something. I wonder how many kids were affected by Bargain Bin Syndrome like that (which could also include 80's cable TV in my case).

Alright Sonichu fans, I'd like to get a discussion going about the 2006 "Sonic the Hedgehog" title for PS3. Most are aware that the game is a hot mess that really hurt Sonic, making the Sonic Boom reboot necessary. There's not a lot of mentions of this game by CWC over the years, but having been around for nearly a decade, the lasting influence of that game is evident all over Sonichu. There's a handful of ideas from that game that are present in the Sonichu world, leading me to think that Sonic '06 was a big inspiration for Chris, things like:

- Sonic interacts with many normal humans in mundane situations
- Sonic is involved in romance
- Sonic is not unique or special and has many superpowered animal friends
- Existence threatening villains with vague intentions
- Strange juxtaposition of mature themes and early childhood character design aesthetic

The current state of Chris has a lot to do with Sonic '06 since it has the most influence on his stories and its commercial failure is the reason for the "blarms" redesign. Chris has never criticized the game or how it hurt Sonic's reputation, meaning he never thought it was less than amazing.

I've never played the game but I have been amused by its well documented awfulness for years. Has anyone played it? Are there more references to Sonic '06 in the comics I'm not aware of?

Well, if you mean that Sonichu is as good as Sonic 06; then you've pretty much hit the nail on the head there

I don't understand that princess. Dr. Eggman/Robotnik may be kinda bald und chubby and over 40 years old, but he's intelligent and educated as well as rich and powerful. So she should be happy that the good doctor saved her from that blue animal. I mean, come on, with whom would you rather have a romantic dinner - a smelly blue hedgehog which probably has fleas and behaves like a stereotypical 90s teenager, or with an accomplished scientist and roboticist who knows which wine goes with which dish?!

We've all probably had obscure shit while growing up that we either don't remember, or know we're one of the few to remember it. Chris is disconnected from the society at large, and that even includes the internet, so he simply doesn't know. So he'd treat the Filmation Ghostbusters like some hallmark of pop culture worthy of being referenced by Family Guy.
One amazing thing is that his bargain bin shit he had as a kid could've been replaced by literally anything else (as long it's harmless kid stuff) and Chris would've loved it no matter what to his adulthood. He only knows shit like the American Rabbit through pure chance, not because he was given a large pool of media to choose from. The what-if possibilities are huge.

I typed "Chad the Hedgehog" into Google and got this:

Tips for drawling him: Well there isn't that much to Chad. Uhmm well sometimes I draw his trench coat all the way to the floor. Oh and he always has spikes on his shoes.

Back Story: Chad was Gerald Robotnik's first Ultimate life form creation. You see what Gerald did, was take power from the white chaos emerald and another emerald. This emerald was a negative chaos emerald, black as the night. To Gerald's calculations, if he put both a good and bad substance into Chad he would be perfect. That is not what happened at all. It actually made Chad indecisive. He couldn't get all of his thoughts together and could be manipulated as a weakness. But Gerald could not just get rid of him. He was something he made with his own hands, he was attached. He thought he could fix Chad or maybe he would grow out of his indecisive mind with time. But things only got worse. Chad began to developed this other half of him. Some one who is to unpredictable. He was insane and had no thoughts for anybody but himself. Soon Gerald knew he couldn't help him and put him in a storing tube never to be seen again along with another brother Shad The Hedgehog [link] Until a long time later Shadow The Hedgehog was once again walking the Ark sad and alone. He saw all the locked doors but did not touch them. they hold to many painful memories. Until he saw the door at the end of the hall to see two lights shining from the door, one white and one a dark blue. He went in and found the tubes. At first he thought they we Shadows to replace him. But soon he realized that maybe they are the only family he has left.

He opened and out they both came. After that they came down to mobious. Chad was amazed with all of the different people and decisions, it was kinda over whelming. He soon began to develop is own personality. Shadow said he should come work for G.U.N. and explained it to him. Chad was amazed by it! Hurting and blowing up stuff but for good!!! Chad could never comprehend the thought. He join and his other brother Shad joined to after awhile. After one mission something weird happened. Chad's other insane half came out. The brothers did not know what to think of it, but had to be careful. Chad soon met Glitch the hedgehog, [link] who is the leader of a negative chaos stopping team. And so much negativity was emanating off Chad. Glitch could not quite get why, but befriended Chad and was out to keep a close eye on him. Chad soon found out and did not like it. He soon became enemies with Glitch.Soon during one mission they found one of the last Black Doom Stars alive and it was nice. Chad of course wanted to kill it. But his brother Shad could not. They decided to spear it and it soon became like a mother to them.

Today Chad is working for gun and still trying to comprehend the beast inside of him.

Likes: Two completely different things put into one, Music, family

Dislikes: Glitch The Hedgehog, One devise decisions, the things he can't explain

Relationship: (note that they will stay single for Official couples, but can have as many fan made couples as possible)

Retsupurae on YouTube does a hilarious play through of Sonic '06, it's much cheaper and less stressful than playing the game. There are dull NPC's that look like John Denver all over this game.

EDIT: Fixed the link, but it's just the first video. I'm sure you guys can find the rest.

At least it wasn't Animalympics.

Pretty much all of these things are in the Sonic Adventure series which are like Sonic 06 with the same level of storytelling but loved for some reason, which Chris has shown fanaticism over.

Case in point: Chris' proposed game "Sonichu Adventure" not only obviously rips off the title and structure of Sonic Adventure (swapping between multiple character's plot lines that intersect at multiple points) but was advertised in Sonichu 0 at least 1 year before Sonic 06.

I say Sonic Adventure had a far greater impact on Chris than 06 IF 06 have and impact at all.

Yeah, there's definitely a Sonic Adventure inspiration, obviously because the game was out before Sonichu comics were even made. I'm not disputing that. The thing is, Sonic Adventure wasn't that bad. Also, Sonic Adventure wasn't as hugely hyped up. Chris is very influenced by pop culture. His love for Sonic was amplified as a child by the Sonic craze going on in the 16 bit console war. Sonic was a prize fighter back then. His game looked cooler than Mario World, it introduced blinding speed to sidescrollers and it moved consoles off store shelves. Sonic Adventure was a good game that most people didn't even give a try.

Picture Chris in 2004 reading some of the first announcements of a Sonic reboot bearing the same name as the original game that created a blue hedgehog frenzy. Sega was attempting to match the Super Mario series' longevity and innovation. They wanted to grab the PS3 and Xbox crowd's approval. Sonic '06 was hyped for the entire time Chris was working on Sonichu, and key elements of the insanely absurd story were detailed like the multitude of rehashed playable characters and insertion of anime humans. Issue 7-10 were all drawn presumably while Chris was actively playing the game. It's widely considered the worst Sonic game ever, and in Chris' eyes it's the Sonic Bible.

I'm pretty sure CWC barely played Sonic 06. Bought it, yes; played it some, yes; but during the latter part of Sonichu he was more often absorbed playing Little Big Planet, as I recall. Since there aren't trophies for Sonic '06, there's no way to tell if he played any way through it--and given how adamant CWC was about how Sonic could never die, I bet he doesn't even know the big spoiler (Sonic gets killed by being stabbed in the back while distracted by a noise). Wild guess, he got stuck on the first speed stage at the end of level 1 and called it a day.
