Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

At this point I have seen that enough to question how rare it is. It'd only really kill you if you are unlucky or have a preexisting condition, but at this point I'd be curious to see if any studies on the AstraZeneca vaccine's lethality have ben done.

During the 4/23 meeting, ACIP reported 15 cases of TTS out of 7.98 million doses, including 3 deaths. They worked it out to 7 cases per million for women under 50 and 1 case per million for women 50 and up. There are apparently male cases in Europe and ACIP has been looking at some potential cases here, so we might get different numbers tomorrow. I think 15 out of 8 million is pretty rare. Even if all 15 dropped dead--and they won't, 5 of them had already been discharged--that's still a 99.9998% survival rate. It's better than COVID, if those are your only choices.
