Have you seen the film Lawless? There's a line said by Forrest Bondurant that goes- "we control the fear. And without the fear, we are all as good as dead."

Since you're familiar with ED, Can you tell us when the focus shifted from 'lets have a laugh' to paranoid fabrication and gamergate autism?

ED had a strict non-censorship policy, which is why it became what it is. Removing shitposting was considered censorship; the philosophy behind it was social Darwinism and/or the idea that people would govern themselves.

Sorry, I missed this before I posted, though I sort of answered. Quick ED History:
ED was spawned from LJDrama and following lolcows and drama llamas. Around 2000ish when *chan stuff was getting big, there was a call to reassess the focus of ED. It was decided that ED should stop being niche and try to expand to a larger and more mainstream audience. Forums came as part of that project.

So really, ED is the way it is because the audience changed. Obviously I'm of the opinion that either (a) a more narrow audience or (b) a more narrow focus would have been a better choice. Too late now.

Guys got genuine schizophrenia and a personality disorder

Hes been around for a little while and blogs on my profile about shit to do with his family. So i told him to fuck off and i think that cut him deep.

I think he was under the impression that if he threatened suicide i would feel bad and apologise (lol). Claims he was cut down by the police and put on a 72 hour psychiatric hold but that sounds like bullshit


Anyway 0/10 the only chance he had to be remembered and then he blew it
