General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

We still have that EN Vsinger who should be ready to go now too, if it's still a thing and doesn't already got group up with EN2.

Sidetracking: anyone getting notifs/posts of HoloShorts?

I just noticed that Roboco is very reactive with her comments, and I think she's one of the underrated hololivers there is.
think you need to have the bell thing on youtube to get notifications for shorts. I know I got one or two for when Fubuki posted that amongus singing short. Otherwise, iirc its just them putting the video as a short and putting on the hashtag. You can def have shorts show up on your recommendations or in your sub box though, its how I found that short HAACHAMA cooking short I posted a page or two back.

And yes, Roboco much underrated. She gives off big fluffy vibes like Watame even thoguh Roboco is a half nude robot.

I was expecting more than three, and at minimum a guy in it. Looks like they're still trying to play it safe by using juat girls and copying their other branches with the retarded techwear aaesthetic, along with the fantasy theme that is quite common
Yeah it's a bit underwhelming to be honest, an all-female idol unit was the last thing I expected from Nijisanji EN. It's not that I dislike the concept, but I figured they would do more to differentiate themselves from the competition.
(the voice acting in the trailer video bugs me too, sounds like some cheesy 90s era anime dubs - hopefully they act more casually when streaming)

With the Mass Effect trilogy being released Friday, if it's got japanese subtitles I could see that being a game the girls play with a lot of variety in playstyles and interactions.

Actually, looking over the promo for the new Nijis again, I noticed some strange silhouettes in the background. I thought they might just be of the talents, but the design elements present (especially on the one on the upper left-hand of the image) are way too different in comparison to any of the girls being debuted. I wonder what this could mean?

Reminds me of when HoloEN were reading from a script to promote HoloFes. It's not exactly their strength.

Seems like they've got themed unit debuts going, sort of like with JK Gumi. Kinda seems like they might be going for a light/dark meme theme-wise, if the colors are anything to go by. Definitely hyped, I'll try to make it to their streams, although that shit's in the middle of the night for me.

Second some of the concerns with the Niji EN group, they may have the jump on Holo's EN2 (although they were always going to premiere first), but really, an idol unit with Reddit-focused marketing? They'll need more than that if they want to make any serious waves.

Nevertheless things in practice could be very different once they actually premiere so eh it's wait and see. Real curious to see where they hail from too and whether any are EU/Stateside (as those debut times are not favourable for western audiences, especially Europe and Eastern NA).

Artemis was already doomed to fail for obvious reasons. Not saying this would be any better though.
People got spoiled by other holos like Suisei and Subaru collabing with some nijisanjis forgetting that most of them already knew each other before their main gig in Hololive, they are the exception and not the rule, also Gura is one of the few in Hololive that absolutely refuse to collab with almost anyone, i'm still surprised with her collabing with Anya

I'm assuming there is probably more to Nijisanji's reveal, maybe some sort of ongoing story involving those silhouettes. HoloEn had that whole myth thing of Detective Ame investigating strange mythical creatures thing in the beginning. I'm expecting some scifi elements along with the obvious fantasy creatures stuff.

edit: maybe those are the next wave of male vtubers.. It's interesting that I keep on hearing how Nijisanji are mixed genders and much more adventurous but this initial reveal feels kinda safe. If you told me this was HoloEN2 I wouldn't be surprised.
