Clashes between Jews and Palestinians in Jerusalem. Israel now invading Gaza according to (Questionable) Reports - If your thoughts are "I don't like either" you don't need to fucking post because it's been said 100 times you fucking dullard

You'd think with billions of dollars in funding, their system could handle hundreds of rockets. But nah,it can't.

Almost as if technology isn't perfect. Track 24 targets in a MiG-31 and maybe shoot 4 down. Wow, would could've thunk it!

You want to bring back chemical weapons into the mix? Call me a moralfag or whatever but I'd rather be hit with 500 nukes than suffer generation after generation of horrible mutated offspring.

Yeah but I like the Vietnamese so that's sad and makes me feel things.

I don't know how old you are obviously, but in my decades I've seen the end of the cold war and the Berlin wall coming down in real time, only to have it brought back 36 years or so later. I've seen what the government is capable of doing and just saying ha ha fuck you peons. Vietnam was never worth getting involved with, same with fucking Korea. This shit was uncalled for as it's mostly just the frustration of a losing campaign causing overkill.

The middle east though? This shit has been going on since before most of the people on the site were born. Israel supremacist who think Judea is real is any form vs the people who had the land they'd been living on for generations stolen. I really don't care about any of those countries and I'm sick of TOTAL WAR ALL THE TIME, motherfuckers been in Afghanistan long enough to get a gold watch when they retire.
It's a fucking shit hole culture anywhere that's not in the area of The Saudis and what I find trying as fuck is that we're a more secular country yet balls deep in biblical prophecy.

Give it the fuck up, these idiots are going to kill each other eventually so let's take their nukes away and then let them do whatever. It's a Mercy at this point for everyone in the world.

The best multiple target defense system in the world, the Aegis, cant handle hundreds of rockets at once with a single system

To handle 150 you'd need like 3, 4 Aegis systems (officially it can handle 100 at once but in combat 100% from each system is not gonna happen) and thered still probably be at least a dozen that didnt get shot down

What kind of missiles does the iron dome use? Is each a one for one trade off or are they able to hit multiple targets?

I know back in the early 00’s my nation was creating a surface to air missile that could strike multiple incoming targets.

Shut the fuck up and program your stupid timesheet app or whatever it is retards do that gives them massive Dunning-Krueger to shoot their mouth off about real-time guidance and target deconfliction.

I believe it's a one for one trade as the missiles are small so that many can be packed into one battery, which means they cant have an explosive filler large enough to actually effectively deal with many threats in close proximity. Here's what I believe is a picture of a system by some people for scale of the tubes.

It's important to note too though that Iron Dome is an entire program with a multi-tiered defense approach networking many batteries together into a grid with a central CIC and radar system to work together, much like AEGIS, an intent to possibly add in "freaking lasers" as well from what I've read on the system.

In general I root for the Palestinians, but I really don't want rando Shlomos being hurt. But it's what it is.

The real interesting thing is not the conflict itself, because it is self evident that Palestine will lose and Israel will win and have their gear paid by the US Taxpayer.
What interesting is the international reaction. For example will anybody care about Palestine nowadays? How will the Woke left react to this? If Israelis win too much all arabs there will end up in Europe anyway. etc.

I think both sides are holding back. Modern infrastructure is very fragile, considering Israel got a lot of engineering jobs outsourced there (what I guess nobody in the west want to do) having for example a power outage for days could make a lot more damage economically than losing a few helicopters or tanks.

The Palestinians can only hope to dry out the coffers of Israel (good luck) somehow, considering they won't be able to beat the military. Sure, if there were the other Arab nations around who were anti Israel they could just zerg rush that hard to defend tiny piece of land, but the US spent the last 20+ years blowing up all the armies that could be doing that.

Anti Missile defenses in general are not too great. Missiles that can intercept dumb ballistic and artillery missiles are way more expensive than those.
I think radar guided automatic flak cannons will return, I saw some concepts here and there. It will be good to lays down a shield of shrapnel that can stop missiles and drones.
Or lasers, I am sure you can sell anything to the top brass if it has freaking lasers and shit.

They use Tamir missiles, they're domestically produced for an unknown cost (but estimated between 30k to 65k each). Each battery of the ID has 4 launchers with 20 missiles loaded.
The Iron Dome only focus on rockets/missiles that will hit soft and hard targets, if it calculates that a rocket will end up in bumfuck nowhere, it decides to ignore the target and focus something else.

But it still sucks compared to the laser system they could have used (which is rumored to have a better efficiency at intercepting shit)

Israel stopped caring about muh opinion 15 years ago

Right around the time globohomo started winning

Coincidence?
Tf are you talking about, they haven't cared for a long time. Look at operation opera/entebbe/assassination of Palestinian terrorists in Europe. Israel arguably cares more about your opinion now vs any time before because of how badly they are losing the PR war.

Totally unrelated to current events but in the area and someone in this thread will probably have an idea, if Romans used crucifixion as a constant punishment as it seems from the texts why have there only been like one ankle with a nail through it and I forget the second. Wouldn't you at least have skeletons with smashed up bones even if the family took the nails out?

No idea. I'd imagine that being tied to crosses was probably more common than being nailed to one, so maybe that. Shrug.

Despite my usual shitposting I tend to favor Israel on this matter.

Israel has shown to be very capable of handling their shit, and the Arab world is just massive. As I see it the best outcome (other than mutual destruction) is for Israel to curbstomp the Arabs while severely depleting their own resources.

Of course now you have Israel looking for more gibs to restock.

But in the end I'd rather have a dependent Israel than an emboldened Arab world.

I hope this is the end of the Gaza strip, just so we can stop hearing about it.

There has never been any Roman crucifixion manuals found. While a Jewish scholar named Josephus did report that 500 Jews were being crucified every day during the siege of Jerusalem... there's only been two or three examples found of ankle bones with crucifixion marks.

Israel had much more European public and diplomatic support back then and more American public support. Israel no longer cares about muh opinions no matter how mad you get about it. That ended with the Second Intifada. Muh PR war lol that's a distraction the only thing matters to Israel is what is said between it and the American government behind closed doors.
