Which if you notice I acknowledged was unfair. However, I also acknowledged that when Balfour came in, the Palestinians still had a hell of a lot of land.

Which they lost. Via war. War they declared, and lost, against Israel. Over, and over.

Israel would have had no casus belli to take and hold the huge portions of land they do now if Palestine had demonstrated any capacity to reason or plan, and people may have even seen Israel as the aggressor.

Now they don't. They see a horde of angry murderous yobs attacking a far more civilised westernised power not unlike themselves constantly under attack trying to behave reasonably and with restraint but being pushed constantly to the limit. I'm not saying the people of Palestine are not civilized or sub human, they are not, but they have lost the battle of sympathy and optics by always being the aggressor and always resorting first to violence. Sadly, rightly or wrongly that is the image now in the public conciousness and because of the history of how it was founded Israel is more western and thus more relatable to most of the world than Palestine could ever have been.

Hamas is playing directly into Israel's hands and has been for some time. You're a fool if you think they're going to achive anything positive for the Palestinian people. This battle was lost to Israel long ago.
