Over the past couple of days there have been ongoing clashes between Jews and Palestenians in Jeruasalem. Obviously this has been going on for generations, but this is to discuss recent outbreaks.
Rather than making a thread for each article, a single thread to contain all discussion seems like the better idea.

Sadly this stuff has been going on for generations, flare ups like this used to be very common a big one however hasn't happened for awhile but its been brewing.

Israel makes military service compulsory for all able bodied individuals when you reach a certain age. (Similar to Cyprus but thats only for men due to their war with Turkey). There is a family story i have heard from my mother that my Grandfather was friends with a Palestinian man who worked the docks with him, apparently when he was young he watched his best friend be shot down by an Israeli girl who was easily considered a child.

Its nuts to think about but sobering when you wonder how many tales like that probably exist. If not in this ongoing conflicts then others. We are so removed from these situations its bizarre to consider this is all occurring on the same planet.
