FYI, Hmong people are an ethnic group that mainly lives in Southern China, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.

There are fairly significant Hmong populations in California and Minnesota, so hopefully she'll be the second choice. I know some people are ragging on their Twitter shitposting, but I know I'm going to give them a fair shake on Sunday. Hoping for the best, would like some more competition for HoloEN that's good.

I think it's less about being 'competition' and more about being an alternative. Niji are never in a million years going to win a raw numbers game with HoloEN, but they can tap into their subscriber pool as long as they aren't too similar and work from there.

Niji need to accept they've come incredibly late to the party. They may even have an SEA-based group so they can beat Hololive to the punch of having their EN branch be the first and most logistically feasible to receive 3D models.

Assuming that are Mint and Nova are amongst this first batch (I'm 95% sure Pomu is Mint), they already know how to garner a respectable audience from nothing and keep them watching even in spite of HoloEN.

Its perhaps optimistic of me, but I trust that they know what they're doing enough to give them a fair shot with an open mind.

Their twitter content so far makes me think they're terminally online women so deducing anything from the schedules is probably futile since they likely just keep strange hours.

I don't really think you need American talents to appeal to Americans though. The only English speakers that might alienate US viewers are Britbongs and I don't think any of those got in.

Late but here is the translation of the latest Delutaya stream. She mentioned that on August 11 she'd be releasing a Single, have plans for merch, and possibly revealing her Live2D 2.O (since the other model can't be used for copyright reasons) as well. There was also supposed to be a singing stream later but she had to cancel it because she got sick, or at least that's what I've heard. Here's the schedule that was posted in /vt/.

It's hard not to say they did a good thing in the end, but the reason they're mostly English-speaking mods is because they're western Aloe tards. A couple of them are even on record for saying they wanted to support Delta in the hopes they'd be able to coerce her into returning to Aloe.

Of course, actually reaching such channels nowadays is impossible given that there's such a fuckfest of a hierarchy that even has different tiers of mod chat due to severe distrust. Delta deserves much better than what she got.

So that would explain even more as to why sometimes delta fags are referred to as "groomers" it all makes sense now.

It's pretty sad that NijiEN thinks to garner a western fanbase they need stale memes and bathroom humor.
The sadder part is that they're right.

I think the biggest reason I avoid EN Vtubers, even HoloEN to an extent, is the absolutely retarded fans that come from the western audience.

Funny enough, the first I actually heard anything about Mint and Nova was from that last collab with Pikamee and Lyrica. Made me wonder if big-medium-medium-small was the ideal collab format, and sort of makes me wonder if Lyrica can activate the same simp powers that made her good friends with ID1.

That reminds me though, from what I read afterwards, didn't Mint and Nova both side with Lyrica when the latter took a tweet from Mocca out of context and caused some drama?

To be absolutely clear, I have it on extremely good word - even from DFS mods unhappy with the top brass, and folks who outright left the server because of them - that there was no evidence of actually grooming Delta for anything heinous, and none of what I said applies to 99.9% of her fanbase who, though no doubt mostly there because of Aloe, are not malicious and don't have any untoward motives beyond 'saving a smile' or whatever.

Though if you want to consider their behaviour to be nauseating or parallel with the delusions that can also foster desires to groom people, I certainly won't try and argue against it.

I suppose a lot of it also has to do with the fact that they're speaking the same language, and so are the livers themselves. So, being able to detect retarded comments, being more intimately acquainted with meme culture and how it's used to appease zoomers etc may be a deterrent for the same reason people prefer subs to dubs because they can only detect pitch and tone rather than the other components of acted dialogue.

But then you realise that the likes of Hololive also talk about how much they love loli, shota, make streams where members become kindergartners, and sometimes speak like happy-go-lucky retards to appease their audience and you realise it's just two different sides of the same autistic coin.

Oh, I understand that it may not be the case that they were doing anything malicious and I had always been in denial about that being the case. But reading in your response reminds me of when drive-by fags sometimes come by to the Delutaya threads and call the delta posters groomers in the early months when chubba split threads were around in /jp/. It's just your post gave a bit of context behind those drive-by fags

Elira Pendora displaying a level of control over the Japanese language. This is consistent with the belief from /vt/ that it is Ryusei Nova.

It also potentially bodes well for ENs ability to have a 'bridge' for the JP branch to engage with, effectively making her Niji's answer to Kiara. The speculation is doing a lot of heavy lifting though.
