I know I'm a few pages late but the VLAHGZ from several years ago where he flew his parents in for them to clean up the pig pen while he was a big boy drinking gin and playing gacha games and Leanna was doing fuck all made me legitimately MATI back then. I come from a culture where once you become old enough the tables are supposed to turn and you're supposed to take care of your parents. Now that doesn't mean having to live with them, feeding them and wiping their asses like they're babies, but visiting them every once in a while, letting them retire early if you're making good money yourself (that's what I did for my dad), buying them things if they can't do so or whatever. I mean, it all depends on the situation, if it's not feasible for you to visit them regularly because you're living several hours away then it's okay to just call them every once in a while. If you're an overgrown manchild like Dave who still needs mommy and daddy to regularly bail him out financially and do basic tasks around the house, then you're not even considered a man where I'm from. I mean of course, there's exceptions, if your parents were shitty then nobody will care if you let them starve to death, my society is a backwards tribal culture and not oh-so-enlightened so word in the "tribe" quickly gets around when it comes to which families are shitty and which aren't. But Dave's parents weren't shitty, from all that we know from them they seemed very supportive and coddled him to an insane degree. For fuck's sake Dave Sr. still works despite being past retirement age and suffering from multiple herniated discs. If I did the same to my dad I don't know how I would live with myself from the shame and guilt I'd feel.
