Define “government”. Palestinian Authority is a joke and Fatah actually lets Israel put those illegal settlements on their territory, while not doing a damn thing about it, shit they’re not even helping Hamas with this. The government doesn’t exist beyond Fatah cucking for Optics and Hamas going insane until Qatar and Turkey pays them to stop hurting their business investments

Hey man, Abbas needs another term election so he can finally turn around Palestine -- I mean he had a very short honeymoon phase of 15 years, so you cant judge his leadership yet.

A historian that I know claims that the reason Hamas attacked is to get media attention and global pressure on the Israeli government to bring them back to the negotiating table on divvying up their land.

It likely won't do shit since it never really does shit anymore. Israel is allowed to do what they want to because we want their somewhat secular and reasonable government in charge in the Middle East over primitive Islamists. I mean, their women are in photographs running from missile attacks covered in religious garbage bags.

He also believes that the only way Palestinians could get anything done is through non-violent protests, which they won't do because their religion is inherently violent, but idk.

Personally I think that the Palestinians are just fucked and we're watching them being driven into extinction and nothing will change that for them. It has happened to cultures and people all over the world for the entirety of human history. People win and take over and wipe out other people.

Funnier that they were gonna have elections in the PA this year but Fatah delayed it indefinitely before this because apparently they were going to lose to Hamas in the WB.

My pet theory is that it has to something do with this incident
