So, any educated guesses?

Amazing BIlly Mitchell dont have a thread on Kiwi farms. I remember searching for one back during the latest drama surrounding him but there was nothing. He is a cow, no doubt. And he is a big cow.
Unfortunately, he just has a thread about his lolsuit that he won through bullying a Youtuber in poor mental health and IIRC didn't follow through/properly serve a couple of websites. So the rest is just him versus Twin Galaxies who last I heard are going to make it nightmarish on him in court.

The rabbit hole goes quite deep with Billy Mitchell, like 20 years of internet posts, so there's a lot to sift through.

most likely the FM towns Marty and the JVC Xeye, if the recent pictures of Mike lending it to James indicate anything. someone better than me at google-fu would find that picture
If it's the FM Towns Marty the autists will never let him hear the end of it ...and they're right! What's wrong with the FM Towns?
I know the Marty was a failed spinoff of the FM Towns series but it was still fully compatible and the FM Towns had some great games.

I haven't watched anything James related in like three years, so reading this thread made me kind of bummed.

I've started listening to more recent AVGN episodes as background noise. Most of them are just "Eh", but I haven't been too disappointed. They're not great, but they're watchable, save for that Fear and Loathing episode, which I had to turn off halfway through. That was Doug Walker level unfunny.

I also didn't realize how bad the Screenwave guys were until I was recommended the Rental Review to Street Figther: The Movie. I remember the time James, Mike, Bootsy, and Kyle Justin all played a game together, and they all fit on the Nerd couch just fine. No way in hell would that happen with these fat fuchs.

Yeah a lot of people didn't realize that at the time, although he did say it in the description of the video - unless it was added later on, I can't remember:

"This is sort of a psycho-analysis of myself. It's about my earliest memory and what drove me to make movies. Special thanks to everyone who submitted music. I had plenty of stuff to listen through and will always look back if I need more. Also thanks to the workers for allowing me to film there. They told me the dragon is being moved to the front of the park. Nevertheless, it was my last time seeing it the way I remembered. I have yet to go back and see how it looks today, assuming it was moved successfully."

That was a lot better than the last episode. I agree that it felt like it felt rushed in some places, but console review episodes are some of the best AVGN episodes IMO.

This is the kind of content that keeps AVGN watchable. It's not as memorable or quotable as older episodes, but it's still enough to hold interest.

He doesn't always need to have a gut buster of a line. Episodes like this are just good to see what kind of shit was excreted way back then and see how he describes it and reacts to what's thrown at him. Sometimes, what game companies released in the 90's defies belief, so just seeing him go through it all can be fun.

Now that you mention it, the way Cinemassacre is now is almost like an old survivor band where only one of the original founders remains and is surrounded by newcomers. The Screenwave guys just don't fit (literally in the case of the couch) the mold that made the brand a staple on YouTube. Problem is that this is likely the way it's going to be until it all ends.

Ngl, the whole "It would have been cheaper for your parents to smack you upside the head with a Neo-Geo Cartridge than buy a 3DO" got a good laugh from me.
The 3DO was so hyped in game magazines as the next big thing in gaming. But it was one of those things where even as a kid I knew there was 0% chance of getting it and knew never to bother asking for it. The only other toy I recall like that was the Omnibot-2000 from Tomy.
