That's the thing that a ton of people here are missing out. The center of the conflict is Jerusalem. Israel can hit Gaza and the West Bank as much as they want but they're not the main point of contention. If they try anything drastic with the Dome of the Rock or Al Aqsa mosque they will bite off more than they can chew. As much as they like to brag about how big and strong they are if Israel could fully take Jerusalem like they want to they would have done it in 67.

Yeah. If that happens, Israel would definitely need backup from allies in the form of more men and arms. Fighting just Hamas isn’t that bad, but if other countries join in because they are invested in the Dome of the Rock, that’s when things will get crazy. It wouldn’t be just Israel versus Palestine anymore, it would be Israel versus the entire Arab world and their allies.

Israel very clearly and deliberatly shelled Gaza yesterday and today. While I don't doubt that a few Hamas rockets landed in Gaza, their effectiveness so far combined with the intensity of Israels bombardment from both Land, Air, and Sea, leads me to belive that Israel crippled the power, and are using Hamas as a scapegoat to avoid looking responsible for the suffering of hundreds of thousands.
