The issue with Jeff is that all of his stories are from so long ago and really no longer relevant and he doesn't have many new ones. Most of the really funny stuff happened like 20 years ago. They don't do any "new" coverage of anything or go to any conventions, as far as I know.Game Tapes and Demo Derby was the content I stuck around for. It was fun hearing stupid insider stories from the past and Dan was a great counterpart in that he talked about being hyped and playing those games as child. As content goes it was a pretty complete product that covered both sides.
They should have gone for more scripted content though, at least jot out some details and thoughts beforehand. Them sitting down to see if they can find something to talk about, while sounding tired, should have been largely saved for UPF and some other things. Why would they even pay video editors if they have nothing to edit? Look at all the slick and entertaining stuff people with a thousand subscribers put out on youtube, total scrubs teach themselves editing and script writing then run rings around GB. It's fun to hear Jeff reminisce sometimes, imagine if he had looked some things up, found relevant footage and thought about what he would say before recording a video? Then let a video editor put all of that together, make them work for their $100,000 Bay Area paycheck.
GB was exceptional from when "Games Media" went from small business meetings to trade shows - they were the kings of live content there for a long while. They just kind of gave that up and didn't have a similar transition when "Games Media" went from trade shows to digital presentations.
