That's a fair point about obesity, but I still think exorbitant rates of obesity conflict cast a bit of doubt on the claim that Gazans are starving at large rates.
You are correct that Israel has used white phosphorus in Gaza, mainly from 2006-2008. While WP and flechette rounds are dangerous neither of the two is a banned munition. WP is routinely used as a smoke cover by different militaries. Consequently, I would not call the IDF's use in Gaza as using war toys on a proving ground.
If you do see WP being used by Israel, you should catalogue it here anyway
The banning of flechette rounds does not have enough international support, though I think they should be banned.

In terms of Boots on the ground fighting, little has happened since yesterday. From what I've been able to piece together, Al-Aqsa has taken over a few towns by force in the northern occupied west bank, namely Jinen and Nablus. Hazbollah has been timid, but there may be an assault on the Northern Israeli border from Lebanon if they pluck up the courage. On the IDF side, they have mostly busied themselves with the southern Gaza Strip, destroying Hamas tunnels systematically, and even pulling off a few ruses to pull fighters into the tunnels before collapsing them. Other than that, they are suppressing the rioters in Lod and Jerusalem, and enacting curfews to keep the populace in check. Mostly just keeping things in Order for the Israeli side of things.
