General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

The nijiEN debut itself was bland i just wished the time alotted to them is not limited. I guess this is normal for nijisanji debut . The talent is pretty good imo i just wished they stopped meme-ing everytime.

The dragon interest me tbh.

NijiEN live2d >>> HoloEN live2d

3rd Niji girl seems to have given up on her debut and doing a group interview/talk show with Hana and ID guy. Soft spoken.. ehh not really standing out too much in the bits I saw. Her artwork are pretty good though, but again compared to Ina well.. the comparisons to HoloEN's debuts are inevitable and well.. I wish em luck, I should have stuck with Watson's podcast and Coco's Meme review.

Eh no major surprises with the Niji debuts, outside of technical difficulties they were always going to have an uphill climb and this just proved the point.

They're really going to have to think on what they want to offer because personalities and controlled gremlin tactics are only going to get them so far when those fields are already occupied (as Ame and Gura tonight show). Obviously too early to make guesses on their audience base (lord knows how well they'll do once into the groove of things), but the debut numbers are IMO a good sign of saturation and how any new corporate talent won't be walking into 500k-1M sub territory and 25-50k viewership numbers.

Makes me really curious from a number sperging perspective just how well HoloEN2 will perform later this summer.

Small theory in Ame's flat earth argument she talks about Gura being the second most subscribe Vtuber to dunk some more on the nijis

Ok I can watch the niji debut now so anyone got the timestamp for the Gura gif

I was thinking the same thing about HoloEN, if one or two of these Niji girls were HoloEN finalists, then I am a little concerned about HoloEN2. Are there enough talent out there that can follow Gen 1? Cali dropped a rap song/trackwhatever the cool kids call it, Kiara is tri lingual and memed the whole chicken/kfc and gay ship into existence, Ina turned out to be a freaking pro-level artist and Ame.. Ame's acid trip of a debut and creativity and technical knowledge.

We'll see what these Niji girls turn into once they settle into their roles. I'm not sure what Pomu's specialty is, Elira seems to be the singer and Finana seems to be the artist. But nothing they did really stood out to me, I'm hoping it's just the short 30 min debut time limit and they'll show their power levels later..

I think it's really unfair to consider Hololive and any of its branches to be the new norm and not what it is - a massive fluke.

And that's not dunking on any of them at all, nor is it undermining management decisions, but if a world pandemic hadn't hit at the exact same time the algorithm started vomiting Rushia clips into people's recommended feed, they'd have never taken off the way they did.

Hololive are not runaways in the talent department, either. Talking about 'occupied territory' is bizarre as most people enjoy variety of the same thing. Many subscribe to multiple ASMR channels, good APEX V-Tubers, Minecraft streamers, singers etc, so saying that Amelia 'covers' the Gremlin schtick is unfair when half of this forum can't stand Ame when she rages at games.

It was very clear they weren't aiming for Holo numbers because that's literally an impossibility, but NijiEN do look like they'll take off after getting settled. What we've seen of them has been really positive.

The thing is, Holo seems to have a strategy to pick people based in their skills or personality, not just they're successful streamers or not
There's also the option of the members reccomendation or opinion, so EN2 talent pool should still be good
