General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Ichikara is no more, now it's ANYCOLOR.

They just changed the name and branding, although it might take people a while to start saying "Anycolor" instead of "Ichikara".

DeepL translation of the tweet: We have changed the name of our company to "ANYCOLOR" and renewed our corporate logo. We aim to expand our business to create even more "magical and new experiences".

The Niji girls seem nice enough to me. Would probably give them a watch from time to time.
I tought the fairy would be the energetic and loud type, but she was surprisingly chill during the last stream. I tought her voice would annoy me pretty fast but with lower energy it's nice to the ears. Good energy for something in the background.

Bird girl has a good voice and is charismatic enough. Could keep my attention on whatever she's talking about.
By the way she mentionned a few time she was new to streaming, so unless she's lying or has weird standards, i'm guessing the rumors about her previous personas were unfounded?
I give it a month until they devolve in Vshikara

Edit: lol ANYCOLOR what the hell

It would be punny if it was ONECOLOR
ICHI KARA-

in preparation for LGBTQ and on-spectrum Vtubers.
That's actually an obvious next step towards western specific pandering.
Scary stuff.

_____
Big fat rebranding presentation. Couple brandbook pages in JP included.
Seems innocent enough and painfully sterile, like you'd expect from a corporate design.

Wasn't Loserbait thought to be in Holo-En to some capacity? Glad to see that he shares the same opinion we do.
Shit, I totally forgot the troon shark even exist. Did anyone still genuinely watched him?

Maybe that's the point? It's not one color anymore and now a vibrant all accepting shade in preparation for LGBTQ and on-spectrum Vtubers.
Anyone who actually believes the name change is for some sjw shits really need a good smack to the head. The change is obviously because they wanted to penetrate the EOP market to get some market share for that sweet dollar by changing their company name to something your usual american can accept more easily. Hell, the name itself is terrible and not someone who can speak english fluently would came up with, especially with that bland ass logo that didn't even take 5 minutes to make
It really confirms my suspicion that they're a bit desperate to catch up with the overseas market

Bro whatchu mean, that's her best material! :story:

Also, late to it, but I'm enjoying this Calli/Gura collab~ I honestly wanna watch more Calli
As much as I agree with you, it's true. People don't like watching her when she's getting genuinely pissed off at Mario and whatnot.

If who she was is true, then she was only streaming for 7 months, so it'd technically qualify as a half-life at best.

After all, Amelia is the only member of HoloEN that we know has comprehensive streaming experience. The rest have only streamed since they joined Hololive, and I would still consider them relatively 'new'.

That recent Gura and Cali stream grinds to an absolute halt during that cross / cube section.

HoloMyth Debut Teaser video: 349K views
LazuLight Debut Teaser video: 1.3m views

HoloMyth Country Roads collab song: 456K views after 2 days.
LazuLight DCL collab song: 347K views after 1 day.

Hololive English official channel - 123K subs
Nijisanji English official channel - 109K subs (up from 97K post-EN debut)

You can say what you want about their meme humour, but they've been a hit so far. As an aside, NijiID's latest batch average only half of NijiEN's current subscriber count, and given the fact that they've just opened auditions for Gen 6, it's abundantly clear that Nijisanji have grounded expectations of their branches.

As soon as the clippers start having more material with which to promote LazuLight, they'll continue to grow. Holo clippers have already taken a shine to them, so there will be a big overlap in fan bases down the line.

Kiara and Calli has shitload of songs and they are not swimming on dosh, how that work out? Calli could manage by her doing the heavy lifting but the chicken doesnt know how to do that

For context Nene debuted first and has i think 2 songs only with her (Nenene daibakousou and lunch with me plus Blue clappers), Kiara on the other hand has 2 songs (Hinotori, Heart Challenger), i asume the duos and other things are paid between them or paid by cover

Calli is a special case because she has like 12 songs or something but she do it herself so is mostly free

Edit: forgot Nene husband song.... so that was a thing
If the members pay for their own song, that song belongs to them and depending on how popular it is they can then sell it to Cover for money and the ability to get it on Streaming Services (not sure why, but this was mentioned in a member only stream). She also said that you can ask Cover to help with funding, but I imagine it would be some sort of joint ownership or purely Cover's ownership in that case.

Ichikara spent money for ads for the Lazulight teaser, Cover didn't afaik. That explains for the absurd amount of "clicks"

Also why are people comparing the Country Roads cover to Diamond City Lights? Country Roads was a stale 6 month old cover that Cover just decided to release because it was a waste not to; Diamond City Lights was NijiEN's first "big" project.

I will give the NijiEN channel props though, it does seem like they're planning to keep updating it; the HoloID and HoloEN channels are lucky to get a video or two a year.

Good, but you honestly sounds like a fanboy insecure with their oshi. Is all Nijifag this insecure with Holo?
You forgot that NijiEN is also carried with HoloEN's popularity as well, despite being from different company, since HoloEN basically singlehandedly made VTuber for mainstream non-Japanese something possible to do
Sure, their popularity in the first place is a fluke, the whole industry is. But to still maintain their position showed that the talents and the corp worked hard to do so.

NijiEN, to me, is still something that Ichikara (AnyColor, God the name is retarded) that they're experimenting on. Instead of going mixed gender like they usually are, they went like Holo and go with all-female group, something to think about. And to announce a new NijiID right after World's debut? With an all-female group as well? And changing the whole company name as well? Something must be going on behind the scene, and I'm very curious about it

Edit:
Forgot this, but as @RiverBear said, Niji spent a lot of money for ads, especially targeting Holo clips or streams. That last part alone shows they're trying to target Holo's audience, something that is a very different strategy they used for the home branch
