General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Honestly, one of the reasons Niji's debut was so much bigger is probably because of Hololive haha. Holo EN increased the EN audience by a lot I would assume. Plenty of people who had never heard of this vtuber shit suddenly became fans. Now they want more. A bigger audience means more eyes on the new stuff.

Idk about the NEET dating, could you elaborate?
Her ex is a streamer name whathisface Ned or Neet.

Good, but you honestly sounds like a fanboy insecure with their oshi. Is all Nijifag this insecure with Holo?
He just presenting numbers. If anything, your comment make you sound like Holofag getting salty that the debut isn't a total flop.
Personally I don't give a damn about company. It just happen that a lot of my favs are Holo. I'll be happy if NijiEn overtake HoloEN in some aspect. Maybe that'll lit the fire on Cover's ass and make them stop playing it safe with everything, for example 3D models and collab with the dragon.

Tattoo and dating a literal NEET, I wonder what else.
You're just jealous because you know you'd never rock Cowboy Boots as well as I do.

You forgot that NijiEN is also carried with HoloEN's popularity as well, despite being from different company, since HoloEN basically singlehandedly made VTuber for mainstream non-Japanese something possible to do
Sure, their popularity in the first place is a fluke, the whole industry is. But to still maintain their position showed that the talents and the corp worked hard to do so.

NijiEN, to me, is still something that Ichikara (AnyColor, God the name is retarded) that they're experimenting on. Instead of going mixed gender like they usually are, they went like Holo and go with all-female group, something to think about. And to announce a new NijiID right after World's debut? With an all-female group as well? And changing the whole company name as well? Something must be going on behind the scene, and I'm very curious about it

I'm actually not a Nijifag: two my favourite three streamers are Hololive. I'm bringing it up because a few pages ago in this forum there was doomposting and skepticism on the metrics of NijiEN and their projections, with some even suggesting that Hololive's popularity and numbers were the benchmark for LazuLight. There were a couple of people even speculating/questioning that Ame and Gura were somewhat maliciously throwing shit at NijiEN on their podcast solely because that's how they wanted to interpret what was said.

And yet no one has really attempted to delve into what they're doing right as their own entity. If me bringing up a different perspective constitutes as an 'insecure nijifag' then I don't know what to tell you. Humouring the rhetoric that fans are going to be prone to comparing the numbers of both groups, I decided to compare the debut teaser, their most recent collaborative piece of music, and the subscribers of their branches' official channel.

The goal was to show that Niji's business efforts are paying off and that their debut has been a hit. I didn't attach any tribalist opinion such as 'this means Niji is better than Hololive' or whatever incel bullshit. If people want to question the motives behind the company name change or timings of announcements etc that's entirely separate to what I said.

Also why are people comparing the Country Roads cover to Diamond City Lights? Country Roads was a stale 6 month old cover that Cover just decided to release because it was a waste not to; Diamond City Lights was NijiEN's first "big" project.

I will give the NijiEN channel props though, it does seem like they're planning to keep updating it; the HoloID and HoloEN channels are lucky to get a video or two a year.

I think you're undermining the Country Roads song tbh. Regardless of how long it's been in the Editor's room, it's still the first piece of music all members of HoloEN have collaborated for, and that's a big deal given that they are, for all intents and purposes, still kind of marketed as a pseudo-idol unit. There are many, many eyes on their works, especially Gura and Calli whose musical talents have always been front and center. People aren't going to not watch it just because it was recorded in December.

Male EN branch, Holo or Niji.
Who will be the first? Who will lead the market?
I think that first batch would get huge traction, whoever gets there first. Probably to surprise of all the big wigs who are pussyfooting around this gap in the market.
Am I being too optimistic?

Holo likely won't given how bad their track record of Male Vtubers are

In fact, people were surprised Nijis werent the first to have Male Chuubas

I wouldn't say their effort is paying off yet. If anything, from the obvious large ad campaign, they're still burning money since the debuts didn't manage to get Holo EN and ID2 numbers, and this came after people are accustomed with english speaking Vtubers or even the medium in general. And the numbers looking good for now is more of an illusion since even with the benefit of people's curiosity/getting bored with Holo, and debuts usual high viewership, its not that impressive of a numbers. Remember, the vtubers business is pretty much saturated already. First impression now is more important than ever. Rebranding yourself later on would be difficult unless you went for untapped market like the russians or the spaniards like Botan or Coco did

As for the Country Roads collabs, my suspicion is that the MV itself is not that very good. Personally it looks very subpar, when you compare it Holo other songs. The end result is really not that good anyway

Edit:
Forgot this, but as @RiverBear said, Niji spent a lot of money for ads, especially targeting Holo clips or streams. That last part alone shows they're trying to target Holo's audience, something that is a very different strategy they used for the home branch

>People ITT numberfagging HoloEn 6 month after their debut compare to NijiEn and no one batted an eye.
> Someone brought up some positive number for NijiEn and suddenly he's an insecure Nijifag.

And people told me this thread isn't having a hololive bias when I brought it up.

I really, really, REALLY hope you are not because I would love a Holostars EN, but with how things seem to be, it appears that you might be.

Also,

Assuming that this is true, how old is Oga again? Just for shits and giggles...

Yeah, that guy was too aggressive
----------------------------------
I still reiterate my position that they're not really comparable mostly because of Ichikara/AnyColor's aggressive marketing

We do not know how many of those 1.3 mil views is legitimate interest vs paid ad.

Some people in 4chan have also reported that Diamond City Lights popped up as an ad but no one has proof yet. Otherwise, I'll take that as an L for Cover given they sat on the Country Roads for 6 months and the end result isn't very good.

While nijisanji has like better track record(not even comparable) with male vtuber i honestly get why they opt for all female for nijiEN since i don't think their male vtuber outside japan is doing well, there is no standout . They don't have bora nun/hana macchia equal in their other branch for male vtuber.

Its still toss up really on who will dominate EN market for male vtuber imo.

I'd like to clarify that my point was that the aggressive marketing isn't for nothing.

We need to take into account that Niji as a brand simply does not have the same weight in the west as Hololive does, and that what HoloMyth got in free advertisement from their senpai and comprehensive western fanbase, Nijisanji have had to pay for.

That's just the way of the world. The big Football/Soccer clubs like Manchester United, Madrid, Barcelona etc attract all the big sponsors, swathes of international fans, and quality players just on the merit of how big their brand is, whilst other, smaller and less fortunate clubs had to brute force interest via throwing big money at players and sponsors to compete. I hope that analogy translates well as it's literally the only sport I like.

Let's also remember that, even amongst the Goliaths within HololiveJP, HoloEN as a generation are absolute freaks at the numbers game. Gen 3 are often lauded as the miracle generation of Hololive with basically all of them raking it in, but they debuted nearly 2 years ago now. HoloMyth are an anomaly to end all anomalies.

I've no doubt that Niji's goal is to keep pace with Hololive, but I don't think that necessarily means they project they will reach that point immediately after pouring all this money into it. LazuLight feels more like laying the groundwork rather than putting all their eggs in one basket, but even if you compare their growth to other Niji batches (not Hololive), you'll notice that we are seeing the same pattern of the EN branch growing at an exponentially higher rate than their JP/ID branches as we did with HoloEN.

Shit, I totally forgot the troon shark even exist. Did anyone still genuinely watched him?
Still pulling 10-20k per video, no clue on the live audience. $2200 in superchat revenue the last month. Only 3k new subs in the last month. I'd say Tranny Shark has reached 'normal' growth for what his actual streaming capabilities consist of. Though he did still seemingly buy the huge install base of watchers that appear to be semi loyal.

Along those lines, I recently discovered that one of my best friends from highschool fell down the troon pit. I had lost track of him when I was in college, and he went through some really shitty life choices. Now he goes by she, and is streaming on Twitch under his original gaming handle from High School. The reason I even bring this up is I've watched him a few times and treated it like a David Attenborough style nature observation. What I was surprised about though, was he had followers who watched him and interacted with him. But upon diving into those users and seeing what they themselves were, I found a giant tranny circle jerk of streamers watching other streamers so as to boost their numbers and 'support' each other. And very few (if any) actual viewers.

What I'm getting at here is that I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of Artemis' viewers are not actual viewers, but Alphabet people 'supporting' one of their own by watching it out of some kind of obligation and not an actual desire to watch.
A cockroach returning to the same place means the place is dirty/has source of food for them, or its trying to build a nest there. That or the heat from the PC attracted them. She should be careful since a cockroach is way better than a crazy ants infestation.
IF she lives in an apartment/condo building too, or closely spaced row houses, all it takes is a neighbor to be slightly unsanitary as well.

I 100% hope Niji fucking kills it and is successful alongside Holo. In fact, I'd love it if both groups ended up interacting with each other ala how the JP side does. But this definately is in the 'wait and see' column. The third member's premier is up for tonight, so I'll be catching it and hoping she isn't caught by technical issues again.

That's actually an obvious next step towards western specific pandering.
Scary stuff.

_____
Big fat rebranding presentation. Couple brandbook pages in JP included.
Seems innocent enough and painfully sterile, like you'd expect from a corporate design.
Lmao. I forgot that Sony is owning them. It would be funny to see if Sony decided to pandering into those non skilled troon and get burned at the end.
They did it with TLOU 2 so it’s not much of a rrat if they will finally ruin Niji for good with their pandering record.

HoloEN is one of the most successful gen but I honestly think it's unfair to compare holoEN numbers in 2020 to holofantasy 2 years ago. The brand of hololive is nowhere near as big when holofantasy debut compared to the holomyth debut.
