I was around the whole time, so I can say first-hand that the fandom consisted largely of two groups: The Facebook group, and the Reddit group.

The Reddit group was always on r/TheDickShow, and was always compromised of the usual Reddit assholery of being overly pedantic and looking for absolutely anything to complain about. The guy who opened the first Facebook group, Dustin, was hired on to be a contributor, but Reddit complained and whined every time he was on to the point where they convinced Dick to get him to leave. Dustin wasn't particularly special, but he wasn't bad, either. But by modern standards, he'd be a breath of fresh air.

The Facebook group was unhinged from the start. It began largely as just a whole lot of shitposting, but evolved into a weird mishmash of thirstposting and insanity, which begat the Facebook News segment for a while. Facebook kept shutting them down, so satellite groups kept emerging until they sorta became their own thing. It's one of those internet groups where they still go by the name, but nobody's listened to the show in ages.

Dick used to interact with both groups, but now only occasionally posts on the Reddit, and usually just to thank a random person who pops in to complement him or to dish out random insults to anyone he hasn't already blocked. The show's downfall really can be marked to when MintSalad started showing up, and I think all of his weird obsession with the Discord group comes from him just trying to fuck MintSalad.

MintSalad is a girl who is around 20 years old, and is apparently the town bicycle in her little community. I don't have anything against her, she's just an unremarkable girl who has fallen in with degenerates, but Dick's thirst for ass so young she has childhood memories of Justin Bieber seems to be the major catalyst that took him down the pedo hole.

I don't get why so many people get heavily involved in fan communities of theirs. I notice that the guys who maintain great relationships between them and their fanbase don't really interact that much with them. They'll put out videos thanking people for their support and things like that. But they never get really involved in the communities themselves.

Maddox appealed to young boys and men so many of his older fans had grown out of their nerdy loserness into fairly well-adjusted people. I intended "All-American" in a very toungue-in-cheek way, since no one really uses that term anymore without being at least somewhat derisive, and to this day Dick really likes to market his show as being largely consumed by the everyman. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
