I do wanna point something out. I don't really like the term "serve" in this context. The last I heard EVERY Israeli MUST join and train with the military for at least 2 years. That's not serving. That's conscription. Israel forces it's populace to get military training because they are beset on all sides by people who, for whatever reason and I'm not here to argue any point, want them wiped out. Gal did not, at least I've seen no evidence of this, join the IDF willingly and salivating at the idea of popping some muzzies. South Korea is no different. However unlike Israel, women don't have to join. There are other exceptions as well such as athletes (sadly esports teams are exempt as well I believe) and musicians including K-Pop stars. Israel has few exceptions to their conscription.

God, Chris is obnoxious, pathetic, and entitled. He thinks he deserves money just because he has a podcast, regardless of its quality.

I find the position of the K-Pop stans to be immensely frustrating, even moreso now than ever. The country they idolize has a similar method (women aren't mandated to join but can volunteer) and many of their "oppas" are forced into it. Do they think those multi-hair dyed fagaloons they want to mount are in it to train to kill Norks? Fuck no, they usually get stuck in an administrative role in the southern part of the peninsula until they can get back to their careers. Hell, I know regular Korean guys who wound up doing their military service in the Seoul police or (in the case of an overweight friend) working at an orphanage after training. Just because you're forced in doesn't mean you're turned into a killing maching by Korean Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann. Someone has to do menial or support duty to make the armed forces function.

You'd think they'd be able to apply their limited knowledge of Korea to this situation or do a search that doesn't involve trying to find hidden cam footage of BTS members in a sauna on Naver or some other Korean engine. But that seems to be asking too much.

The one thing that gets me about Bobert's support for these types is that he runs afoul of one of the obsessive concerns they have: feelings of safety.
