If he has given one more minute to talk about each game then it probably would have been better. Though it seems like the 3do is just a case of a console who's main failure is the price point rather than a bad design.

And why was the price so high? It was due to the weird licensing stuff behind the scenes. The 3DO company didn't make any consoles themselves but instead licensed the tech and the brand out to electronics companies, which is why you have 3DO consoles from Panasonic, Goldstar, and I think at least one more I can't recall right now. Just like with VCRs and CD players, those companies had to make their profit just by selling the box, since they didn't make any games and therefore couldn't do the "razor and blades" model that Sega, Sony, Nintendo, and Atari could do - sell the console at a loss and make up the difference by selling and licensing games.

All that said, I remembered the 3DO sticking around for quite a while despite it quickly becoming apparent it wasn't going to take off. Wikipedia says its "Lifespan" was 1993 through 1996, which sounds about right - that's longer than the Dreamcast lasted.

Makes sense. Consoles are just average cheap PCs optimized for gaming and selling for an attractive price (at least for people who don't want to start hunting components at a discount). So without the cut from games it's unfeasible to sell at competitive pricing.

What's the deal with the extremely fat blob that takes up space around James? His friends are so pathetic and gross, why does he hang out with these losers.
For real. Mike was obnoxious and spergy, but at least you could tell him and James were actually friends and had good chemistry when doing videos together. Same with Bootsy before whatever rift happened between them (anyone have a definitive answer on that btw that isn’t just speculation?) The fat losers from Screenwave always reminded me of the sycophantic ass kissers in high school trying to suck up to the popular kids

James nowadays has """"no time"""" to make his videos due to family stuff so he appoints the fat slobs at Screenwave to do the work for him and this is the state of the channel now.

It should be added that Ryan Schott, the creator and big boss of Screenwave, worked with James and Mike on their channel for years before creating his own company and recruiting some of his friends from his previous project: the Philadelphia-based convention TooManyGames. So, in a lot of ways Screenwave was build on Cinemassacre's shoulders. Now Justin Silverman (another TooManyGames regular and failed youtuber) is the assigned producer for all of Cinemassacre's content.

"According to him, he left due to general bad practices, treatment and atmosphere. He also said he wasn't getting royalties for the songs he wrote for Board James, his appearances or even the Bootsy Beats episodes, which he made completely on his own, despite them having ads enabled on YouTube."

There was a post by bootsy himself pinned on top of r/TheCinemasscareTruth, but its gone now.

3DO Vegas Stakes.png

Amused, but not surprised, that the 3DO video has not only surpassed the Vegas Stakes video in views, but also reached over 900K in a shorter amount of time than it took for the Vegas Stakes video to reach over 900K views.

If this Justin Silverman doesn't lose weight he's going to die a horrible diabetic death, go blind, have cancer, etc. How is he going to produce Cinemassacre content if he can't manage his own health. His ego is so big as well to have the gall to put himself on camera while being unfunny, unlikable, and a ticking heart attack time bomb. Sad, really.

That 3DO episode felt like a blast from the past, well of course it did, he reviewed 3DO shit like 15 years ago. But at least we got to see more weird-ass games which has always been the highlight of AVGN.

I always thought the 3DO was a failed experiment, like an evolutionary dead end of 3D gaming (along with most other 90s CD-based consoles). FMV games especially, it's just fascinating how they were everywhere in the 90s but now you never see any games with random live action footage with actual actors (especially the funny ones who are just random dudes off the street like Plumbers Don't Wear Ties).

I'm suspecting he thinks that not caring about his imminent death makes him look rock 'n' roll.

Yeah, Bootsy had problems with Mikes unwillingness to pay. This was apparently something that kept happening after his exit from the site.

I know it sucks being so blatantly stabbed in the back by so called "friends"... but hey, atleast Adblockman is on your side!

Seriously though, i wonder how the contract looks like, i mean, since he made it himself, why don't he just reupload his own work? Doesn't have to be ad-riddled or even monetized, but just out of spite to see how people with a gripe on the whole situation would go out of their way to hype up his own upload.
