General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

That's proving my point. She is in the top percentile of vtubers. We shouldn't be using words like "ok" I understand people have different tastes, but when she is one of the top 10 vtubers she should be more than ok.
Calli’s strength has always been being more personable and relatable compared to the rest of EN due to the only one not being a streamer/idol pre-debut. “Top 10 vtuber therefore must be good streamer” is kinda a bad point since the best streamers are just really likable. If people vibe with her awkward, give-no-fucks personality then she’s doing her job.

Personally, I didn’t like the meme review either but I haven’t liked them in a while. Since Reddit just recycles jokes, if you’ve seen a couple episodes, you’ve seen them all spare a one or two good memes every week.

Don't think it's a language issue, I suspect she is an introvert who is only comfortable with a few people like Gura.
She's admitted as much herself on numerous occasions. She used to bring up the fact that she's an introvert quite frequently.

Granted, I don't know if she still brings it up because I haven't watched her (or any of the other Holo girls) for a while now, so I can see how that bit of trivia might get memory holed.

You are getting a bit too angry, my dude. Yeah shes boring, but people have different tastes.
The same could be said about other Vtubers.
Alright, who the fuck replaced Takodachi with this impostor?

Calli is sort of to Hololive what George W Bush was to presidencies of his time. She seems like the most down to earth and approachable of the girls on the EN side. Anti-idol but in the sense of she is like an "every man" who became an idol and not in the sense of Coco and the like who have the high energy of idols but subvert expectations using the energy to great effect. I suspect that is why she is so big. Hololive can use a straight man like Calli.

Coco has said that is the point of meme review. It's meant to be shitty. Or do you watch RLM hoping to see good movies reviewed?

You took my quote out of context or you cut out the important context. You said Calli got a boast from being in the eng branch, I brought up the two that are lagging behind and you only addressed me asking why they don't have a million without the context of you saying the eng branch got a bump. You saying that it's a matter of luck and taste isn't what you said before. You said it was because she got a boast from being in the eng branch now you are introducing other factors. Which is it?
They are lagging behind because they have their own niches that dont grow as fast, i was trying to put the fact that being a Hololive doesnt inmediately give you shitload of subs, no matter if you are EN or JP or Indonesia is just a matter of niches and metric

Also, if something is popular, I should hope that it is good or that people can explain why it is quality other than just going "it's ok"
Technical word "i should hope that is good" is ok, you can dislike things that other people like i dont need to give a 100000 essay about how i like funny shark flopping songs or Suisei obliterating people on Tetris

Don't like it, don't watch it mentalities are what people use when they can't justify things. Instead of me wanting quality and asking why it is bad, instead of explaining or having a dialogue on how it could improve or why it is the same jokes over and over again, I'm dismissed with "don't like, don't watch"
If you want quality and are not finding it on Hololive they why the crap are you bitching about things you dont like? what would the purpose of having a dialogue with you about how to improve the ways a talent stream, you are not a manager and definitely not a talent so what would be the point?

Hololive are just the more populars there are shitloads of Vtubers you could watch that could fix your criteria but no, you come here, say "Hololive is popular ergo has to be good" then you swap to "because everyone say it was good i watched and did not like it, here 10000 words how why i dont like it"

In the end your post can be resumed in Hololive bad, everything sucks because they dont stream the way i like it

The joke writes itself, she is Austrian so..
Both had to give up their original dream too. There's more similarities than not at this point

Maybe Calli was off because she was streaming with an energetic orange haired girl that wasn’t trying to get into her pants.
Did you miss the part where Coco wanted Calli to knock her up?

I mean yeah the memes are shit but the content itself doesn’t have to be, especially since reacting to trash is usually pretty entertaining when not repetitive. I just usually just watch now for the cultural exchange aspect of JP girls reacting to western humor. Since it doesn’t apply here I feel they would’ve gotten more mileage by just straight roasting Redditors for not being funny. Maybe when Ame comes on.

Look, I know the collab's result is mixed at this point. Some like it, some hate it, some...find it indifferent to it.
But can we at least agree that the collab happening, with almost no disruption from the bugmen as a very good thing? Coco finally collabing with EN is a good thing and should be celebrated. Regardless of the result, this is still a victory against the West Taiwan antis

Btw, I noticed Ina used the Tako jar today as well, and it filled in 40 minutes.

Idk man, I think people need to cut the goth Reaper some slack.
She's the first of her Brands to collab with the dragon which put a lot of pressure on her and she's usually awkward in interactions outside of her spiel with Kiara.
As for all of the retards, who wonder why she got so famous, it's because how different she is compared to her peers that makes her special.
She sounds like a white girl that you find in the Deerbrook Mall who just so happens to be Hip-Hop and that is static is pretty refreshing compared to your high-pitch animu girl.

Honestly, the last couple of pages in this thread has been far more entertaining than meme review (which went as I expected). In retrospect, having either one of the fucking EN gremlin girls over would've been better. They're far more entrenched in meme culture and Ame's or Gura's usual sass when they shit on chat is probably the right kind of energy for meme review at this point. All this predicated of course if they can get comfy and casual with Coco the way they can with each other.

The one tangible silverlining to take away from this stream is that the collab embargo between Coco and the EN girls is officially over. Maybe Coco and Gura can do a joint Terraria stream and break some numbers for you numberfags out there.

One can dream of the day someone responds to those memes with a deadpan "this sucks," but sadly the risk of hurt feelings is far too great. I don't know if the average r/hololive user could handle it, and so they're never going to do that. And it's too bad, because that's really what they need.

Gdi, I'm just left for an hour or so and bam, 5 pages of reactions from the meme review lmao

Imho, Gura, Ina or even Kiara would've handled it better. Gura, being the memeshark she is, would've definitely just laugh like a flute. Ina, would just go humu humu and all will be fine. Kiara, you know her extroversion.

This is true 2 years ago but now you can actually get shitload of subs because your in hololive, weve seen it with HoloJP gen 5, holoEN and HoloID2. 100k subs before debut is like normal for them at this point

I think the main takeaway is that maybe the other EN girls would benefit from a more casual stream with Coco to get comfy before they do a meme review. Get that formal "oh no can't offend senpai" mood out of the way and get them more comfy before subjecting them to Reddit's limited meme pool.

I think Ame and Gura would have a great time, but they also tend to be a little shy at first. I do think people are overthinking how this went, Calli originally used to be off because she burned both ends of the candle hard post debut with roommates day job,. In the hot mic she was quick to excuse herself for being a bit off, so she clearly sensed it wasn't her best showing and sounded like she enjoyed her time with Coco regardless.

It is something she needs to work on but I don't think it means she doesn't care or anything.

Just give it time guys, EN is likely nervous cuz getting the chance to do things with Coco was off the cards thanks to the bugmen. I think they just really want it to go well and maybe are worried about doing anything that might make management put their foot down again.
