I would pay good money to see Lily work a customer service job.

See how she handles customers complaining about too long lines at the registers because the store is too understaffed to assign enough people there. Customers complaining about how expensive everything is as if you personally set the prices, they can get this cheaper on amazon! Dealing with part of the system going down so you can’t ring up certain payment methods or not having enough cash/change. All while the customer is complaining about how this is taking so long they have somewhere to be this is all clearly the fault of you, the employee, personally. Oh and there’s probably a customer oversharing about a dead/dying relative because that happens surprisingly frequently. All while she’s standing on her feet for hours and making minimum wage.

Nah she would get through a few shitty customers and then would start verbally berating them and chewing them out. I wish that were something guest service and retail employees were allowed to do, but they can’t. So she would get fired pretty quickly.

The fact of the matter is that Lily is her own boss. There is nothing forcing her to respond to asks on tumblr or hang out in a discord. If she hates comments so much, pay someone or ask a girlfriend to curate the comment section to remove annoying things. And use social media just to promote new content or the content of other creators you like. Not everyone is a people person, that’s fine, find a job with less face to face interactions or minimize it where you can.

She acts as though she’s beholden to this horrible fate under the heavy chains of capitalism. The absolute twat.

Honestly, I don't think Lily would be as confrontational in real life. Lily is an internet badass. It's really easy to yell and berate and act like a snarky dipshit when you're behind a screen potentially thousands of miles away from the people you're interacting with.

If she worked a customer service job, she'd probably just meekly take her verbal lashings, go home and cry about it before quitting her job because it stresses her out too much. I don't think Lily is physically capable of working a normal job.

He's the sort of person who can't interact with anyone unless he has the time to write and delete everything. I can't even watch his streams because they're so...boring. It's mostly sitting around with background static as he occasionally mumbles something in response to what's on screen.

I imagine he wouldn't last a few days in customer service. He'd awkwardly stammer out something he thinks is an epic own under his breath when he thinks the customer can't hear it, but he'll mistime it and get fired. Then he'll complain about how his anorexia means he can't handle the abuse of customer service and that's why he quit.

She wouldn't even be working the Customer Service part, she would be getting shoved onto the Unloader Crew because she treats customers like shit.

That or straight up get fired if she actually treats customers horribly, plus it wouldn't be a stretch to say she'd do the same to any co-worker too.q

If I remember right she mentions this is one of her videos this is exactly what happened. In her brony days, she worked in Toy R Us unloading pallets for a few hours all for that chance to get new pony toys first. No one in their right mind would put her on the floor.

The dude couldn't handle being told to read a book by Orwell for High school English. Requests from customers or her coworkers who may not be in the best of moods would send her over the edge six ways from Sunday.

Stuff like this is why I hate the idea of fandoms, tumblr helped to build a lot of that idea but in the end caused it's downfall. Some things get so bad that I hate to even talk about liking something without being grouped in with a bunch of crazies. At the end of it's lifecycle the fandom just tends to eat itself hating the very thing that brought them all together in the first place.

My advice kiwis, get friends and share things with them, appealing to a "fandom" will get you no where. In the Case of Lilly it's clear they have to hop from one to the next, making me wonder if they really ever cared about said thing in the first place.
Look, I know everybody’s heard horror stories of groups of fans doing immoral and sometimes illegal things, but these fans are always either individuals or small organized cliques of radicals that don’t represent the whole fandom. Every time such a story surfaces, the actions of the vocal minority are condemned by the 99% of good fans. (And by the way, arguing doesn’t make a fandom toxic. Arguing is healthy if handled well. If it isn’t handled well and emotions are taken too far, refer back to what I said about radical fans). Every fandom has a vocal minority, even if they don’t make headlines. You’re more likely to hear such stories from bigger communities, but the ratio of “crazy” to “normal” is the same across fandoms as per a statistical phenomenon called the Law of Large Numbers.
People hate fandoms all the time, even though they most likely engage in fandoms themselves. Liking something makes you part of that fandom. And before you push up your anime glasses and tell me that “actually, fandom is short for ‘fanatic domain’ and I am a NORMAL fan, not a crazy fanatic”, may I remind you that denotation does not equal connotation, so while “fanatic” brings to mind images of crazy devotion, it’s just the long word for “fan”. Fan is short for fanatic (as per Oxford Dictionary, or Merriam-Webster, I don’t recall), like how rap is an acronym for “rhythm and poetry” but has become its own word. Also, a domain is just a group in the broadest possible sense, accurately capturing how large and diverse fandoms are. Therefore, a fandom is just all the fans of a specific thing. Your level of engagement in a fandom doesn’t determine how much of a fan you are. Fanartists depend on casuals who view their art, for instance. The masses are just as important as the creators. By hating fandoms, you’re also hating on people who have genuinely been helped by finding a sense of community by connecting with like-minded people. Fandoms don’t ruin things for you if you find the right people in said fandom to interact with. With bigger fandoms especially, it’s not hard. I get that negativity is stronger than positivity, but you’ve got to fight that internal conflict for your own good. A fandom is not a defined group, but an idea.

Your really gonna sit there and tell me that some fandoms don't have a massive percentage of weirdos, if nothing else than the subject matter appealing to said weirdos. Star trek appeals to fat nerds, X-files to conspiracy buffs supernatural to new age witchy women and Ect. Point being I like supernatural but I'd never want to be associated with the cringy tumblr witches who make up said fandom. I'm sure people feel that about other types of media too liking the art but hating the fans of it.

If you find friends in said group good on you, but it's a good idea to have friends who are into multiple things or in my experience when said thing dies you tend to drift away from those friends over time. Best to create your own community with likeminded people, than one that needs a company to pump out content for you all to talk about.

The Republic at large aren't willing to remain calm and rational about you possibly being with the OG Nazis as well as already being a Nazi. You'd think Starkiller, who had his family slaughtered by the Sith and basically raised to be Vader's pawn sacrifice as he personally went around brutally slaughtering jedi and rebels, would understand why people are leery of the Sith. Especially Sith who has, on multiple occasions, threatened to attack the Republic with her mary sue fleet. And right after this proceeds to bust through a Republic blockade to get to Naboo.

I love how awkwardly worded simple things are in Lilly's attempt to sound more fancy. Padme having Anakin's child is described as 'bore the seeds of his (Palpatine's) apprentice, Darth Vader.'

And the Republic is going to conquer and occupy Naboo. You know, the same Republic that, in this continuity, was so concerned with not appearing similar to the Empire, that they needlessly dismantled their entire military.

Alaina interrupts Rey before she does it, but the writing implies that Rey could pull a TROS Sidious and destroy an entire fleet, from planet side, with the force.

There's something oddly disturbing about Lilly using a Kreia quote as dirty talk.

“See, that was Skywalker’s problem,” Aliana giggled. “If he’d just found someone who would be willing to be his friend, everything would have gone so much better for him. Much to my hypothetical disappointment.”

Rey snorted. “Oh? Perhaps some fiery redhead that could fill his life with passion and make him less of an absolute pissant?”

Aliana arched her brow. “That was oddly specific. Exactly how many holodramas have you been watching?”
I'm honestly surprised to find that Lilly actually knew enough to reference Mara Jade.

Lilly: My characters aren't the same! I could never mistake them for one anoth-
image_2021-05-23_030614.png

And Alaina literally starts pulling the entire fleet out of orbit. Power wanking aside, that's not nearly as much of a tangible threat as Lilly thinks. Since, you know, if she pulls the ships down onto the planet, that's probably gonna kill a good chunk of the population on impact.

Star Wars nonsense aside, this is such a neat little microcosm of said-bookisms: Marek needs to get his neck looked at if his nods sound like the word 'indeed', and I dare anybody to say Aliana's lines in a yawn.

I know it's a small, stupid thing to point out, but when you're dealing with the kind of bad that Lily outputs it is the small, stupid things that keep racking up. It's what drags her stylistically from 'acceptable' to 'blandly unpleasant', and what keeps her from being elevated to 'comedy gold'.

Stuff that 100% never happened

People who send him recommendations have honestly been nothing short of cordial with him. For you fans of his, in simple language you can understand, that means they weren't dicks. And what is his immediate response?

1621740159492.png

I haven't seen any recommendation asks that were rude and that weren't met with some form of "GO FUCK YOURSELF". If this is his response to someone wanting to engage with him, recommending him a show he just might like, then I'm very, very certain a conversation with him about a hobby he doesn't even like would be anything other than delightful. That person who posted that "learn how not to be dicks" post you shared probably blames themselves for getting raped by their uncle or beat by their boyfriend.

Quit trying to protect this pedophile.

As for Jerry, is it that hard to not be a piece of shit to the people who are actually willing to give you the time of day? Like, in asks, in streams, on social media, hell, I wouldn't even put it past you to attempt to assault someone who said they were a fan of yours in the street. Nobody's entitled to your presence, you're not a fucking god. Especially when faced with people like us who constantly bring proof of things like you being a pedophile, and someone who is constantly bombarded with controversy after controversy from your own doings. Like, it's not that hard. Just don't be a piece of shit. It's not that hard. Maybe then, more people would like you, and you'd get more of that validation you so obviously crave, you absolute cretin.

The customer service thing won't cut it either. There's a massive difference between resentful people with borderline unreasonable problems they're taking out on the wrong individual and a person who watches a video they like and jumps at the opportunity to interact with the person who made it.

Even some of the worst creators I know on the platform, hell, even other lolcows show more appreciation for their fans than Jerry does, like Ethan Ralph, Boogie, DSP, H3H3, even fucking Chris. People who are hit again and again with controversy after controversy, and Jerry's probably the biggest person out of those few who should be more appreciative of his fans, given he actually is a pedo.

It's like, the bare minimum a creator should do, and it's really shitty when I see something like this happens, that's why I get so frustrated with this. These are the people who basically pay his bills and actually like him, and as I've said a million times, he's already a figure who's mired by controversy. He should count himself lucky he has fans. But I suppose we're adding this to the list of controversies.

He is right. These are a total bore.

I don't do the paid content creation thing so I am certain that at a level I'm talking out of my ass, but..is it really that stressful? I mean I won't pretend that trying to properly pace out the release of content and the creation and dedication to the creation wouldn't in it's own right be stressful. I won't pretend that going all in on self employment and the trials of that wouldn't stressfull into it self because then you gotta make sure your justifying people being subbed to patreon and all that so you can keep above a certain rate of income per month.

But "The Audience" being stressful?

If it were any other youtuber I might feel like I could grant a level of belief to that. Like if this were any of the youtubers I watch that I enjoy saying "Hey, so trying to keep up with a necessary work flow all the while making sure my content is something that youtube will actual procedurally promote and not quietly keep from being seen by anyone with out direct links all the while making sure all the information I present to an audience is accurate and presented in a way that won't offend anyone and won't be taken out of context to turn me into twitters villain of the day has caused me to lose sleep a few times" I think I would be willing to assume it's coming from a place of honesty.

But this is Lily Orchard. The YouTuber who's most well known trait is how much she desires to control her audience by heavily moderating her youtube comment section. Who's gone as far as banning what can and can not be discussed in her discord server. who goes out of her way to create a one sided conversation between herself and the people who do not agree with her for the sake of making sure her audience knows not to believe the people who disagree with her.

Actually now that I dedicate 3 paragraphs to it, it actually totally makes sense that you resent your audience.

And while I'm sure I don't need to say it, as a service worker I feel like it's not to big of a jump to say that, I get more stressed than lily does during an average work week

Lily....comon. Either she's spoken to the landlord and they’ve given her a bog-standard: ‘buy traps or get a cat’ or she just letting them skitter around unchecked without telling anyone. Place your bets, gents, and ladies.

How dare they make rules with sizable monetary barriers designed specifically so it saves lives from needless travel I can't break them! 5 grand extra to marry the love of my life is highway robbery!
And now we have some Mass Effect 3.

He is right. These are a total bore.
You're right this one has nothing in it besides the leaving out of 'give me your fucking money ' rule, a new rule demanding no anime talking in chat, and someone finally asking about her DSP snorts. "I have chronic nasal congestion. I've always had it. *snort* "

She mumbles through 3 hours, talks about how she doesn't project herself onto fem-Sheppard (While calling Anevay basically just Sheppard in Warcraft) gets about 20$ and calls it a stream without even saying goodbye. Or the stream crashes. Class act.

Appreciate it all the same, Devil. This stream was cheaper than a sleeping pill.

also not to be all tin foil hat but doesn't that image look awfully similar to an alt she had a few years ago?
Unless that a thing people can choose to have from Gmail as their email picture if so I'm just dumb.

My first post in this thread was a tweet about Lily kicking a mouse into a wall.

Why is this still a problem?
