What are the Worst Casting Decisions that have ever been made?

Val Kilmer as Batman
Michael Keaton as Batman
Ben Afleck as Batman
George Clooney as Batman
Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury
Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher
Ray Stevenson as The Punisher
bruce wayne as batman?

stevenson was fine as punisher, script was the biggest issue.

Something about Cara Delevingne is deeply annoying to me. It's not that she's not attractive, but apparently someone decided she's amazing and is going to become "a thing" in entertainment beyond being a model. and I don't get it.

Why do people fixate on her? Is it because she's bisexual?
rich parents or something from what I remember.

Family friend of the Rothschilds:

Recently, the 2 leads in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

The movie has such a cool world, the action is nice, the side characters are neat as well... but the 2 leads are so bad that, when they're on screen, just the 2 of them interacting with each other, you just want to go to sleep.
That's not something you want from the leads of your $200 million blockbuster.
They look like brother and sister, was so weird

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in the Snyderverse has to be up there.
I’ll still say the worst thing about that casting was that Bryan Cranston was right there, fresh off of Breaking Bad, and would’ve been as close to a perfect casting choice as possible.

Personally, while I’d say “Most Child Actors” and call it a day, I’ll just throw out Jared Leto in “pick any Jared Leto movie”

Giancarlo Esposito in anything after Breaking Bad. Giancarlo was great as Gus in Breaking Bad because he was playing against type. You have a guy who looks like he should be working at Payless Shoes secretly being the head of a bloodthirsty drug cartel. BUT its a trick you can only perform once. For a period of time, Giancarlo was being cast whenever a show needed a "calculating and smart" bad guy. The problem is that the guy just doesn't have any fucking charisma. Its something that can only work in the context of Breaking Bad, when you didn't know he was supposed to be the big bad. Breaking Bad already played that card, so now whenever he appears he's just the boring guy we're supposed to think is a threat despite looking like Columbian Urkel.

Anna Diop as Starfire:

I would have been more welcoming of this casting choice if the series producers had had the balls to have her skin fully decked in orange makeup to match Starfire's skin tone. It worked well with Zoe Saldana playing the role of Gamora because, just like Starfire, both are alien characters.

It doesn't help that she's dressed as a chav street hooker.

Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik.
I thought he was pretty good, and that movie was way better than my admittedly low expectations.

Worst casting: Forrest Whittaker in anything.
Also, Karl Urban as a Cockney in The Boys. Absolutely execrable.

Oh, yes: John Clark, Navy Seal and ultimate Angry White Man is of course being played by a nigger.

Antonio Banderas as Armand in Interview With The Vampire. He's supposed to be a slight teenage boy. Almost childlike in appearance. That said, he does make the character his own. I can get past Tom Cruise as Lestat because Faggy Louis paints him as absolutely insane anyway.

In general, I don't particularly care for casting someone in a part just because they are a big name. It sells tickets but often doesn't leave a lasting impression of the positive sort. When I see a new horror film with a big name after they got famous I'm just "oh god no".
