Thanks. The essay describes things I've observed myself. I'd also say it depends on the genre of Anime. The most dysphoria inducing Anime characters seem to be very young looking and hypersexualized girls, not Misty from Pokemon. Otherwise the author of the essay does still make the same mistake many feminists do today: They blame the concept of masculinity for troonerism or even the barely or non-existing patriarchy. The explosion of troonerism started after the demonization of masculinity, not the other way around. The West is according to Blanchard (if he's right) the only place in the world where AGPs (heterosexual men that want to troon out ) are more common than HSTS (gay men that want to troon out). Gay men were always more comfortable with being sex non-conforming than heterosexual men without necessarily having the delusions of being a woman. It just seems that heterosexual are unable to do the same thing. Feminists should rather have tried to reduce the negative aspects of masculinity instead of demonizing it so much that all left-wing guy now have to troon out or invent a new sexuality in order to not be insulted as a cis-het white man.

Olly isn't hot, but he's not really what I would call ugly. The truth is, he's just boring and average looking. Sometimes being painfully average can be even harder for people than being painfully ugly, since at least then you have interesting and memorable features that someone might find attractive. At least now I know why he reminds me so much of people I know who had OCD. I thought people here were just throwing the word narcissist around without any real meaning to it. I'm not sure if this was already posted in this thread but Olly, who can never resist the urge over-explain every single choice he has made in his videos, has already written an entire short essay on this. Of course he won't admit that using terms like actress is part of his fetish, so he just tried to claim that him using actor would somehow make other people use actor in a 'transphobic' way. Reminds me a bit of the 'indirect bigotry' point that Nyk made in his last video, if I'm remembering correctly.
