I can't help but wonder... who is this for? Pride defenders make good points that there's much worse stuff out there on the internet, but adult content is typically silo'd on its own sites and marked appropriately. The public square is designed to be accessible to everyone and free of indecency. Sure, what counts as public indecency can shift over time, but unlike with the internet, you can't extricate yourself from an inappropriate situation easily, so we always err on the side of being as inoffensive in public to the widest number of people as we can.
